I've dropped my helmet a few times which I know isn't good for it. But it's pretty surprising the visor popped off so easily and now that it's popped off once it keeps popping off. I'm afraid it will pop off while I'm on the street and cause an accident. I was hoping I'd get what I paid for with this helmet, which seemed like a lot, but unfortunately that rule didn't hold true here.

I was pleasantly surprised by this helmet. Out of the box, it was ready to go on its first ride. The matte black looks and feels awesome. The adjustment system worked perfectly, and the straps fit comfortably.DESIGN:Beyond the visual design, which I'll cover under "LOOKS," this helmet has some unique design elements.Visor - The visor is detachable and has little pins that snap into the shell of the helmet. It's recessed into the outer shell to give a seamless visual and aerodynamic fit. It also looks like the pins would shear off in a crash, allowing the helmet to absorb the impact as it is designed to do. The visor is very secure when attached. I had no wiggle or rattle. It extends forward enough to be useful for shading your face, and doesn't interfere with airflow.Inner Shell - The inner shell is the standard foam, but molded with square posts that will break off in an impact, providing a crumple zone for maximum protection. In addition to the breakaway action, these posts provide for maximum airflow while riding. The visible surfaces of the inner foam have a very flat surface and matte finish.Outer Shell - The outer shell is well-bonded to the helmet, providing a complete protection system. It's a rigid plastic that will distribute pressure during an impact.Adjustment System - The inner fitment system has a "hat band" that wraps all the way around the head. There is a knob at the back to ratchet down the band. It's designed in a way that doesn't grab your hair.Padding - There's a large pad at the crown of the head and a thin pad along the forehead and temples of the hat band. Velcro strips hold the pads securely in place.Chin Straps - The chin straps are very soft woven material. More flexible than other helmets I've owned. The Y of the straps are stitched together, with lots of room to get around the ears. I found it very comfortable to wear. The downside is that you can't alter the Y's location or length. So I noticed that the chin strap fell further back than my preference, putting a little unwanted pressure against my throat. However, it wasn't enough to be uncomfortable or irritating, even over a 2-hour ride. The length adjustment was cleverly designed with a permanent loop on the end and a rubber band through the loop. So it doesn't flap or have loose ends. However, it was slightly less secure/permanent than other helmet adjustments. I found myself adjusting the length a few times throughout my ride.SAFETY:The packaging claims a 5-star rating from Virginia Tech. My own opinion is that it feels as safe or safer than other helmets. The shell is strong, the foam is thick, and the breakaway cubes inside are a unique and smart feature.COMFORT:The materials and shape make for a comfortable helmet. The adjustments work for most people. The padding is just enough to be helpful. More adjustability on the Y-straps would be helpful for some, especially those with smaller skulls. I did notice that removing the helmet pulled a few hairs because the velcro wasn't completely covered by the pad at the crown.VENTILLATION:Perhaps this is the helmet's greatest feature. I felt like the airflow was exceptional. Not sure if this would negatively impact aerodynamics, but it's probably worth it. Air movement was noticeable with face forward and 45-degrees downward-facing.DRAWBACKS:1. Y-straps are not fully adjustable and prone to slipping from the main tightening feature on the buckle2. Velcro did grab some hairs when removing, but was entirely comfortable while ridingOVERALL:It's a great helmet in the medium to high quality range. It seems like an average value for the money, but the style might tip the scales for some people. Yes I recommend it.

I needed a helm,et with a visor as I often find I am riding in the morning or evening when the sun is low. I like this for its fit, and it is very lightweight. I put a light on the back to provide additional visibility, but otherwise I am happy with this purchase.

Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): Despite lacking MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) technology, this helmet boasts a 5-star safety rating from the Virginia Tech Helmet lab, making it an excellent choice for cyclists prioritizing head protection.Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the 5-star safety rating prominently displayed on the box—a significant detail not mentioned in the product description. This rating is part of a rigorous testing standard that I trust for recommending helmets, making this model a standout for safety.Design and Comfort: The helmet features an integrated visor and an adjustable dial that ensures a snug fit, despite its initially bulky appearance. The color is described as "metallic red" on the box, but it presents more as a red-black ombre, adding a unique aesthetic touch.Overall: This helmet is a top pick for those who value safety and comfort over advanced technologies like MIPS. It provides peace of mind with its high safety rating, combined with practical features for everyday use.

The mountain bike helmet from LAZER is surprisingly comfortable (more than my other helmet). I have a slightly small head and the Uni-size helmet fit me great. The adjustable head gear allows you to quickly tighten or loosen this helmet when riding or on a break. The chin strap is adjustable and very comfortable around the chin area.I have placed my Lazer helmet next to one of the leading brands and you can see they have a very similar design. The Lazer stands out because of its superior 5 star protection for the head. The inside liners are removable for washing when it’s gets a little to dirty.Overall this is a good helmet for cycling. The vents provide good airflow through the helmet while riding. The best part is the comfort and protection this helmet provides so you can ride with confidence.

We are trying to be more active by getting a bike. The trick is wearing a helmet so my toddler can see me doing it and will wear one himself. This one fits my small head perfectly. After banging my head around with this on it did a great job of absorbing the impact and keeping my head protected. The build quality is really nice and you have the ability to adjust the tightness and the strap for your chin.Super lightweight and comfortable. Can’t beat it.
