Bought this for my wife for Christmas so we could put up her hammock outside. Got it in time, and recently assembled it as the weather has gotten nice. As far as the materials used, I think they are suitable for this design, and are strong enough as well. My only gripe is the cross beams for the footers. Even though they are attached with two bolts for each leg, the mounting holes are larger than the bolts and consequently it allows the legs to tweak if you move the hammock, so you then end up realigning the legs so they are perpendicular to the main spar. I have tightened them down to the point that the bolts and washers are bending the tubes, but unfortunately that does not prevent the movement in the legs. I also had to modify the length of the main spar (NOT A FAULT OF THE MANUFACTURER), I simply bought the wrong length of stand and had to fabricate my own extensions.This was definitely one of the pricier stands I looked at, and I am sure that it would work out of the box if I ordered the correct size. But my wife likes it and now that I have modified it she loves getting into her hammock... so all in all I will call it a win. I'm considering welding a C-Chanel to the legs to prevent them from twisting when moving the hammock, but for now I will just keep realigning the legs when we move it.

This is a nice, heavy, metal stand. Although it is harder to assemble alone, it goes together fairly quickly. The instructions are not spelled out, you have to rely on images that are not completely clear about the placement of the washers, but everything else is straightforward. I expect this to be a sturdy stand in the winds we get. I didn't realize how tilted the legs are, I thought they should lay flat to the ground, but maybe it gives it more balance to steady it in winds. I bought a 12ft hammock and even though this is a 12ft stand, I had to shorten the ropes because it hung too low.

This is an eleven foot stand instead of the advertised twelve feet. Good luck trying to use it for anything beyond a ten foot hammock.The geometry on the stand is bizarre. The legs don’t sit flat so they sit on edge. Seems ill conceived.I got this stand because I thought the metal would make it last longer and feel more solid. Unfortunately, it doesn’t feel like a a product that will last.

Have been shopping for a hammock stand of this design but they’re all in various specie of wood. This was first of this design and very well built not lightweight or flimsy in this price point. As another reviewer pointed out, thank you, AZ heat will destroy any wood products. The finish of this hammock feels high quality I don’t think there will be a rust issue (not a problem in AZ anyways). I’m glad I found this, and mine came with all the screws and chains. Set up was fairly painless according to my mate. Highly recommend.
