Overall I was happy with this sun protection cloth. The cloth provides 95% protection for my plants. The cloth feels well made with reinforced grommets. I am planning on hanging this above my garden to provide shade from the summer sun. The cloth also has zip ties included so it makes it fairly easy to secure. I plan on using cords through the grommets to allow the cloth to slide over and back.

I am very familiar with shade cloth and as a Southern gardener, they are essential, if you want to keep growing tomatoes through the hotter months of July and August. This order though was for a different usage. We installed a new swing next to our garden shed and the sun hits it directly so we needed some shade relief. This cloth has a 95% shade rating so it keeps out much more of the harmful UV rays than the 60% cloth we use for our tomatoes, which need more sunlight without the excessive heat.It is very well constructed with heavier UV treated materials so it should easily last for 2-3 years. The edging is strong and double sided with eyelets for an easy attachment to our shed. It performed exactly as desired, and now we can enjoy our swing in comfort when we take a break from gardening.

This is a pretty typical shade cloth. It appears to be of typical quality with a bound edge and brass-looking grommets. It is just the right size and weight to use over the hardwood cuttings I am starting in pots in my back yard, blocking out enough sun to prevent burning them up while letting in enough sun to get them growing strong.

This shade cloth feels sturdy and well-made—honestly, better than some of the overpriced options out there. I’m not chasing the “best of all time” because let’s be real: the Texas sun doesn’t care how fancy your tarp is. It’s like a slow grinder that eats these things for breakfast.I’ve never had one survive more than a season, but this one’s got decent thickness, reinforced stitching, and grommets that don’t scream “cheap.” So we’ll see. For now, it’s doing its job: keeping my garden from roasting. If it makes it through the summer, I’ll send it a thank-you card. Not holding my breath—but I am holding onto the zip ties, just in case. ( if they survive)
