As other people have complained, the white is a borderline grey, but a can of spray paint will fix that. It's a bit of an ingenious design that will require some playing to get it properly installed, but it works well if you do it right and worth the price tag, including the paint.

I'm a liscenced plumber 20 years and this is a terrible design. Should be slip on and tighten Allen key. There's several parts and it leaks out the back. Garbage

So I bought this because I wanted a white diverter spout. It says on the packaging that detailed instructions are inside. Not so. No big deal, just screw it on to the 1/2" IPT brass fitting and good to go right? No. It works fine as a spout but when you pull the shower diverter knop it blows water out the back of the diverter. It has a fitting inside that you need a very special 1/2" Hex wrench to adjust. This speciality tool is NOT included with the fixture. You can substitute a long 1/2" bolt or like I did use internal pipe wrench. Not sure about the proper way to adjust the fitting ( no instructions) So I called the Distributor and spoke to Sarah who said she would email me the instructions after waiting a day, I tried to call back but was unable to reach anyone. After a few more days I sent an email request detailing all my problems. It has been several days and no response from these people. From the reviews it seems my issue is well known and the reaction from the seller is to just ignore problems and we will go away. I will attempt one more phone call and if no joy, I will pack it in and start the return process. I suspect this has already happened with the product I received. No telling how many times. If I do this, please accept my apology to the next customer who inherits this failure of a fixture. I see that some folks have no issues with their installation but I suspect they are the ones that have the copper slip fitting. (Update) I was able to get ahold of customer service and it turns out they had emailed me the instructions, they suggested I check my spam folder and I found it, so my bad. You must have these instructions if you have a 1/2" IPT nipple that sticks out of the wall 1-1/4" or less. I have revised my score but did not give a full 5 star because these necessary instructions should have been posted online. If I can figure how I will post them.

Take note of the number of people who have complained about the fact that in spite of what the Amazon website says, there are NO instructions - only a complicated drawing of four installation options on the back of the package and nothing inside. Unless you really understand different plumbing options, you should not order this item. Also, as others have noted the 6" hex wrench needed for some installation options is not included, and will be difficult to find. Looks nice; I guess that deserves the required one star.

Here's some instructions that might help if you are considering this spout. I didn't want to fork out $90 for the Delta one and needed a white spout. I'm not super handy so these instructions might be overly simplistic for some.1. My old spout was attached with one hex screw on the bottom. Close the drain in the tub in case the screw falls out. Use a hex wrench and push away from you to loosen the screw and remove the old spout. Now you'll be able to see what you are dealing with and can easily put the old one back on if you want.2. You need a huge 1/2" hex wrench which you probably don't have if you are a normal person. I didn't have one so I bought one for $7 from Amazon. The one I bought was Bondhus 15916. You might think that you could make do with a right angle needle nose pliers or something but all the threads are plastic and if you damage them too much you'll have problems.2. After you open the package, use the 1/2" hex wrench to get the housing assembly out of the spout, then use the 1/2" hex wrench to also remove the male insert piece.3. The pipe coming out of my wall is a 1/2" copper pipe. This means that I needed to use the brass adapter to attach the spout to the pipe. Initially I could not figure out how to attach the brass adapter to the housing assembly. I figured out that you need to take out the white plastic face bushing that is screwed into the end of the housing assembly. Use something that fits through the hole and is tapered and you should be able to get it unscrewed. It doesn't matter if you destroy the face bushing because you will not need it for installation *if* you have a 1/2" copper pipe installation.4. I'd recommend putting the pieces together *before* putting on the plumbers tape so you know what you are doing. For the 1/2" copper pipe installation it is brass adapter -> housing assembly -> male insert piece -> spout. Now the trick is that you want the whole thing to be flush with the wall when you install it so you need to use the 1/2" hex wrench to elongate or shorten the whole assembly so that it is almost flush with the end of the spout.5. Test fitting the brass adapter on the 1/2" copper pipe. It should forcefully slide all the way to the wall. The rubber gasket and the hex screw prevent it from sliding easily. I had to clean up the pipe with some fine grit sandpaper, take the hex screw almost completely out (drain closed!), and lube up (Vaseline) the brass adapter to get it to slide all the way to the wall.6. Assemble with the plumbers tape for installation. I found it easier to put the brass adapter on the 1/2" copper pipe first instead of putting the whole assembly together in the spout and then trying to get the whole thing on without twisting it apart. Here's what I did. While you have the brass adapter on the 1/2" copper pipe tighten the set screw for the brass adapter facing the bottom of the tub. Now wrap the threads for the brass adapter with the plumbers tape. Attach the rest of the spout with the assembly inside to the brass adapter. Just keep turning it towards you to screw it on tightly until it is flush with the wall. If all goes well it won't leak and you could easily remove it by unscrewing it and try again. I don't think you'll ever need to mess with the set screw for the brass adapter because if yours is like mine, the brass adapter does not move easily.

I purchased this tub spout to replace one that did not stop water flow during shower mode. This was easy to install and works great.

Bought this house built in 1994 with custom fixtures and towel ranks in white and gold. The tub diverter wasn't working much. I tried a new diverter but the fittings were to loose from wear and it didn't help. Next I bought a white Delta spout ($$) but the fitting wasn't deep enough for my pipe. At first I was hesitate to buy this one cause the price seemed to low and quality was a concern. The universal "fit all" in the description and desperation got me to try this one. What a surprise!! It came with just about everything you need, Teflon tape, allen wench and numerous adapters. Mine didn't need any of the adapters and it fit fine. The diverter worked great and I was able to unscrew the knob and put my gold one on. Some reviews complained about instructions but mine was so easy to install I didn't bother to read them very close but what I saw looked good. Overall, I was very pleased with this spout. It was a PERFECT solution for my problem.
