Really really thin plastic material. It won't last for long. Very expensive for what it is.Buy something similar but cheaper.

The children like these. They like to either rub a crayon on or just trace them and color them. Very nice addition to my language area.

my little one doesn't find these particularly fun at this moment - she'll use them to color with, but actually likes to use them as cards to sort, give away, etc more than for coloring, but then again she's only 2. Maybe she'll likt them better when she's a little older...we talk about hte letters & objects when she uses them.Update : My little one is now three and loves to use these rubbing plates. We talk about the letter sounds and the objects she rubs. She does need help holding the plates still or help taping them down though. Wonderful product to use as fun learning.

These were not the same heavy plastic I remember rubbing plates being when I was a child, but my son loved them anyway. The platic is sturdy, but bendable. They are easy to store in the box, or also a ziploc bag makes them easy to take along for us for resturaunts!! I wish they would have come with the little crayons that are pictured (and the little crayon holder would have made it easier for smaller kids!!)Over all my son, who loves all things art, was very into them. They help with letter and sound recognition, and I think they will last a long time with proper use!!
