For the money, you can't do better!I read the reviews before I purchased these hole punch pliers, some said they were hard to use, requiring much strength. I've used a lot of tools most of my life.I found this tool easy to use on a new, quality, thick men's belt. Normal pressure did the trick; the new holes could not be distinguished from the original holes. There are elongated punches as well as round.You can do as well, for less money, with a set of hand punches, a hammer, and a pad. But this is easier, with no set-up. Just squeeze the handles!I recommend this tool!

Indeed hard to press, but most people probably could, if say one side is placed on the floor. Otherwise do prefer the punch-and-hammer type.Some punches offer oval holes, but personally I always have used round anyway, Holes tend to get a bit torn/ pulled out of shape anyway, and I'd rather start with round.

I got this to use with leatherwork projects. The ability to easily punch holes is super handy when you’re first starting out and need items to be multipurpose.This design is nice and stores well. The hand grip was comfortable and the file switched easily yet locked securely when needed. There are several different sizes and shapes to choose from. Overall the selection is nice for a newbie and gives you a lot to play around with.The bits are sharp, but it does take a bit of hand strength! It was too difficult for me personally, but other folks used it with a bit of force. It’s holding up well and I can see how this would be a great addition to a tool set. Unfortunately, the amount of force made it impractical for me. This isn’t a problem with the tool but be sure you know the operator’s abilities before jumping in to bc a project. Just something yo keep in mind. That said it worked well and punched s nice crisp hole.

Works great! Using mainly for shoe straps - I'm always having to make more holes. Used to use a leather pick tool, but this is way easier, way better results. It makes holes slightly bigger than the shoe manufacturer's, but I like that as the holes are easier to find when you're in a hurry. In my photo, I used the smallest punch to make 2 extra holes. (They would have been cleaner, but I put it on top of 2 tiny holes already there from my previous leather pick.) Comes with instructions. I like that it has a locking mechanism too. Recommend!
