Your cart is empty.Natural Undyed Veg Tan Cowhide Splits: In the tanning process, when veg tan topgrain sides are processed, the underpart of the side (known as the split) is separated and sold separately. Grainy on both sides, they are light weight (ranging approximately between 2 to 4 ounce, about 1/32 to 1/16"; thick) with pleasantly firm hand. Natural light tan brown color, and relatively even in thickness and consistency for splits. A lot of great leather for the money!! Costs way more on the open market, if you can find it... These make really good dog Tracking training articles, because they are easy to blend into the environment and you can easily bring lots of them with you when laying tracks for your dog. And they are easy to pick up and put into a large fanny pack as your dog finds them along a track.

Just scraps to practice with. The quality isn’t good enough to use for a finished product. If you are just starting out and need something inexpensive to practice on, then this product is fine.Having gained some experience, i now know this product is a low-quality, overpriced option. You can get a belly hide for $20 which is so much better.

This is assorted scrap pieces made from the bottom half of a split hide so the thickness varies from piece to piece and both sides are rough. I received 11 pieces each the size of a piece of printing paper or larger. A few of them had parts from the skirt but for the most part they are all thick enough to be formed and worked a bit.I am extremely happy with this and will be ordering again. Will update the review once I get around to dying a piece to say how it holds the color or if the quality is lower on second order.***UPDATE***The second order came in and I am still happy but now for different reasons.This time I doubt if it made the 9 Square Feet. I would give the size that I got ..... but math.... It was pretty damn close though. were more odd shaped pieces and only 9 pieces altogether. Thats the bad news but it seems the seller knew they where giving me less area because the gave me better cuts. I didn't have any skirting and all but one piece was thick enough to basically use for any type of stamping or molding you might want to do. They still are the bottom splits, so kind of rough on both sides but with a bit of Fiebing's Acrylic Resolene over the top you can hardly tell.

Terrible product and not as pictured. I was thinking I was getting leather for tooling and this is rough and stiff as a board. Absolutely terrible. I have no use for this

The leather is not bad, but each one is pretty small, I got 14 pieces but the whole pack still weight little less than 1lb 11oz.

These are good, but a little thinker than I wanted them to teach little kids with. We will make them work.

its just what they say, pieces of leather. Some are thicker than others, which I like as i use them for different things. Some pieces are actually quite large. good deal, IMHO.
