We wanted this Laptop Messenger Bag as a gift for my teenager. The ad made it seem like just the thing. We were willing to accept the well know issues of real leather like the durability of scratches and the possible water damage is not taken care of properly.The bag arrived is great shape The surface of the bag was a little scratched but that is the expected patina of this type of leather. The leather is uniform in thickness and quality across the bag. Of course, the smell is wonderful. The bags buckles and zippers have the look of much higher quality bags. The leather craftsmanship is excellent. The lining is well sewn into the bag. The bag has lots of compartment that are useful for carrying laptops and their accessories. The shoulder strap is sufficiently long for a very tall person. The cushion for the laptop inside the bag is typical for this kind of bag. Its not as good as some but better than others. I would add a gel sleeve to my laptop for better protection.The only minor negative I could see, other than the issues of real leather, was the luggage strap which has no Velcro at the center to hold it in place. That strap has a tendency to hang loose if the bag is not stuffed. That loose strap can easily get caught if you are holding the bag backwards. I say it is minor because only my teenager would have trouble with that.This style of bag has other minor issues. The main pocket of the bag is not completely closed so small objects that are stored inside might fall out if the bag is inverted. The magnetic snaps on the main flap are very practical but could be an annoyance if your bag is rather full.Overall, this bag exceeded my expectations, and the price is excellent for the value. If this were my bag, I would take it to work every day. I just love how it looks and smells.

Unfortunately, the one I was sent was already used and worn. If this same bag would have come in new condition, it would easily be a five star item and worth $80 or $100. But this one is not on that level due to the wear it already shows:-One button was already torn off with a hole in the lining.-The back zipper pocket had crumbs in it.-Scratches in several places.-The back cover had a spot that was rubbed raw (looked like there had been a mark they tried to remove with some type of cleaner or stiff cloth that stripped the leather in that spot).-There were two different sticky spots on the leather.-The bottom and sides of the bag had conformed to previous use and had creases/dents that I could not push out.Despite all of that, I think it warrants a 4 star rating because it does still have good thick leather construction and we all know leather lasts even with imperfections. This is truly a leather bag, not faux. Smells like leather before you even open the package. It will last me for years even though it's previously worn. I'll put a small rectangular box in it for a week or two to press out the creases and get it back in shape before I use it daily. May take some leather oil to the imperfections and just remove the broken button, sewing up the lining. That's the beauty of a nice leather bag - when it's imperfect, it can be spruced up. You don't get the same performance out of a cloth or faux leather bag. When they are broken or imperfect, they need to be replaced. That is evidence of a quality item right there - how many other items can you still rate 4 stars when they arrive previously used? None!It’s large and fits my laptop as well as personal belongings and a notebook and pens. Wonderful that it has a zipper across the top in addition to the hatch that buttons down, so item are more secure. The back zipper has a strap above it that will allow it to slip over the handle of a suitcase so it doesn’t fall off as you travel - very nice addition that many leather messenger bags don’t have.Would have been 5 stars in new condition. Don't hesitate to order, just hope you get a new one!

There are times you need to leave the tattered college bookbag or road warrior work laptop backpack behind. This is a worthy upgrade to something that is stylish, durable, and perfect for most business and personal use.I generally wear out my work laptop backpacks, and I haven't used a leather version before. Most of those backpacks look pretty shoddy after a couple of years, with frayed stitching, worn straps, and zippers that don't really cut it. I am so happy with this messenger bag. It is sturdy, and so far all the wear and tear from regular business use gives it a comfortable lived-in look rather than looking cheap.There is plenty of room for all but the widest laptops in the secure laptop sleeve. There are also plenty of other storage pockets in addition to the reasonably spacious main storage area. This bag doesn't have any accordion-style expansion capacity, but you can carry a few notepads or a reasonably-thick book in addition to your laptop with no fuss.The zippers and stitching are first rate - no fraying or snagging in evidence. The leather requires the usual maintenance for leather products, but that's what you're signing up for.Highly recommended.
