Wotks as advertised. It is very hot though. I’ve had it for a couple months and the seam has already ripped!

I will be honest, I have a bit of a belly and find some cloths to be kinda restricting. I was really happy with this style as it allows you to disconnect the belly from the upper part of the outfit. I wear the top part of this with some overalls and it has been working great. Happy with this and the protection that it offers

Right off the bad the seams look great and feel well stitched together. The leather is of decent quality and it fits fairly well. As with anything leather it take a bit to break it in, but after it softens up with a few hours of welding in the heat its pretty comfortable. Way better than the dinky sleeve only covers you get at HF. I would recommend this Jacket.

You'll quickly notice when putting this jacket on that it wasn't made with love. The leather is frayed at the edges, stitching is a bit haphazard, and the wrist area is two completely different leather finishes. One is more swede and the other very rough. Keeping that in mind I've been getting use out of it as it doesn't have to look pretty to function. At a roughly 6 ft 200lb build this jacket fits well even with a light hoodie under it. Very comfortable without it. Buttons and velcro mean the whole thing gets shut up tight. If I try I'm able to expose about two inches of my wrists which is just fine under welding gloves. Plenty of range of movement too. The two pockets are nice and deep so you can actually hold something useful in there. Material wise the leather isn't the thickest but it is real leather and much thicker would make it heavy. I think it's adequate. I'm sure there are better jackets out there but for what this one goes for it's not a bad option.

As a 5’9” 150lb person who normally wears large, this jacket fits me almost perfectly. There is room for more bulk in the chest area, and the arms fit me while I’m wearing a winter jacket underneath as well. The velcro and buttons create a complete seal with no gaps, while the arms reach exactly my wrists without leaving them exposed, or being so long as to be an encumbrance. If you have longer arms, you may need gloves that fit further down the wristThe pockets are rugged, and the jacket can be worn and taken off quickly for efficiency and hot environments. For my first try, it took me 90s to put on, snap in the wrong buttons, unsnap and realign the buttons correctly and seal the velcro. Removing takes 10 seconds. For my second try it only took 35s to put on. I’m sure sub 30s times are possible with regular practice.
Always something to do

The tag says XXL, but I would place it closer to XL. Other reviews talk about the fit like they’re worried about fashion, but for me I only care about how it covers and protects, which it does well.I really like that it has sturdy snap closures AND a hook and pile (velcro) as well. Sometimes I just need to throw the thing on for a quick session and don’t want to mess with all the buttons. It has sturdy leather and stitching.I have done a lot of welding with and without jackets and had serious burns in the antecubital fossa because I was being burned but wanted to finish the weld… moral of the story: get yourself a jacket. This one is great for the price.

This jacket is nice and heavy for welding safety. It is a full jacket so it can get pretty hot. The only problem is the fit. I ordered large and the tag inside says XXL, The arms are long the shoulders fit but it is tight in the back. So when you are leaning forward welding, it is going to pull. Since is it leather I may just cut a slit in the back and put straps on it. That will allow for some ventilation and allow for some roominess. As far as the safety goes this will do great. The price is consistent with similar items. It really is a shame about the way this is cut. If not for that it would be a great item. You will have to decide for yourself. I think the lighter flame-retardant cloth jackets are a lot lighter and not as hot but they do let the heat from hot steel through. It is a toss up to which you pick. I can recommend this if you are pretty skinny or want to modify it to fit.
