It’s a bit heavy and bulky but the blade is razor sharp and the rest of the tools are super high quality. Only complaint is the other tools (scissors, screwdriver, etc) are a little clunky to open.

There is no doubt Leatherman builds quality products. This K4 is no different. It is well made. I purchased it because I liked the idea of a separate tool for opening packages verses using the regular knife blade, which I prefer to keep sharp for other uses. I am happy with this as a pocket knife. I took one star off the "Easy to Use" rating because the one-hand deployment of the knife blade is a bit awkward. The K4 is wide at the end from which the secondary tools can be excessed. It then tapers down abruptly at the opposite end the knife blade opens to. This makes it difficult to deploy the knife blade one-handed. I can do it but so far not on the first try. Perhaps it would work better for someone with bigger hands. At any rate I like the knife and would recommend it.

I have carried this for a few months and it hold a great edge, super easy to sharpen and very sharp, like a scalpel. The tools all work well and the quality of this tool is excellent. I would recommend this for everyday carry if you actually use a knife in your daily life.

I read many reviews and watched many videos of the Free K4 EDC before purchasing. Most people bemoaned the thickfreakness of the K4 EDC. I am here to tell you it's not too thick. At least not for me. I have carried it almost every day since receiving it and have never really felt that it was too thick. I find all of the tools useful, specifically the included scissors. I also find the blade to be super-sharp. This is a great product and I would urge anyone interested in an EDC multi-tool to give the K4 a shot. FYI: I carry the K4 clipped inside my left pocket. The pocket clip is sturdy and easy to use.

I originally purchased the Free T4. I like the T4 but it is a little smaller than I would prefer. Functional but just didn't fit my big hands the way I wanted.Just received the Free K4 today. This is the one I should have purchased to begin with. Perfect size for my hands and the blade size is perfect. It is a little tight and I expected as much. With some work I am sure it will loosen up. I am sure I will carry this frequently. Very good quality. I would highly recommend.

I love that I can get a multi tool that has a knife large enough for occasional food prep. Most of the time I use the scissors, or the very welcome package opening edge on the two flathead tools (so I don't ruin the knife). But when I need a knife, I need one of decent size, and this works great.I also like the magnetic flip out for the tools, and the locking mechanism seems quite secure--perhaps a bit too secure. I'm not sure I like how much space this magnetic feature requires, which makes the tool quite large and heavy, but it is a tradeoff I can manage. However in use it is much faster than the usual nail groves or catches, and way less broken nails after some repeat use. Kind of wish it had tweezers somewhere, but I know that they have another tool that is almost the same with tweezers--but a smaller knife (hard choice). Not sure what the grey coating is, but has worn off quite easily. Not really any sharp edges, and things seem polished in a rudimentary and acceptable level. Everything seems great right out of the box.I for one am glad they didn't use one of the more hyped steels for the blade and went with a more corrosion resistant metal that I don't have to baby in less than ideal environments, and can hone or sharpen with relative ease in the field.

This is a great multi-tool if you don't need pliers. The larger blade makes this a great alternative to having a regular pocket knife. I have no complaints about the existing tools - they just work. The quality is good as expected and the blade will take a great edge but needs re-sharpening every so often. I'm not sure what type of steal - I think it's 420HC so it's not an exotic but a very good blade. It's not cheap but I think its worth the price and I highly recommend it.
