I complete these book nooks for fun and relaxation. I had just completed one from Funpla and really enjoyed it, so I thought I'd try this Magic Bookshop from them. This one, I did not enjoy. Unlike any of the other nook kits I've completed, this kit was made of 1/16" balsa wood rather than the basswood, birch plywood, or MDF of the other kits I've assembled. Because balsa is so soft, the pieces did not fit together well, nor did they stay in place without a great deal of glue. Additionally, the pieces were extremely fragile, so trying to fit them in place without breaking them was an exercise in frustration. All in all, once completed the nook is attractive, but I wouldn't recommend it. It really soured me on Funpla products.

Very cute and engaging puzzle / kit. There were many places where the adjacent parts did not line up and had to be glued. Other than that we love it.

Of all the seven or eight DIY projects I've done in that past couple of months, this was the most challenging. Takes lots of patience. One reviewer had said pieces don't come out or fit easily and before I order, I thought they don't know how to do these projects. My apologies, they were right!Still, made it through and came out nice. Yes, had to use glue to put a couple of pieces back together again, but was still a nice work.Despite all my frustrations during the build, I give it a five star. This is definitely "expert" level project.

If I could go lower, I would. The package was obviously opened. All the protective wrapping was removed from the internal parts that are always on this type of an item. Everything was snapped out. Absolutely terrible.Update. New one shipped and seller has been amazing. Definitely 5 stars.

Very detailed model and you will enjoy with a little patience and care. You will be impressed with the end result. Would have liked human figures to add to the theme. Small touches, however it is a very nice model.
