LED License Plate Light

It took me quite a while to write this review because I had a bit of work to do. This light is meant to be used with a standard license plate mount, which is perfect for just about any standard car. When I saw it, it LOOKED like the mounting plate could be removed and I could use it to light the plate on my box van, which has a broken illuminator. When I went to mount it, the plate did indeed come off, but the holes didn't quite line up. Making matters worse, facing the light downward toward the roll-up door didn't quite splash light across the plate, where it was needed. So...I had to find a buddy to make me a mounting plate. This took a while. (My fabrication skills are non-existent!) Once I had the plate, I had to drill a hole for the electrical wiring, then mounted the plate to the box truck frame. I connected the wires with two butt-connectors and shoved them back through the hole. At long last, I thought I could mount the light. But... I had to remove the plate, because the screws needed to be run from the bottom! So... after undoing everything, mounting the light to the plate and THEN returning the plate to the roll-up door frame, I finally had a light that looked as if it belonged there. Next, I had to wait for nightfall. I'm happy to report that it worked exceedingly well! It's much brighter than the old incandescent light, and the housing looks far more robust. It's also nice that no fancy capacitors or other wiring wizardry was needed, as sometimes happens with LED replacements - it just works as is. In the excitement, I completely forgot my phone, so apologies for no photos. Bottom line, though: if you're using it for a regular sedan, minivan, EV or other vehicle that can accept a license plate frame, this should practically drop in for you! It's much brighter than original equipment and should keep you nice n' street legal.

I have an old Scamp camper that doesnt have a license plate light. These are PERFECT. I got two in case one went out or got damaged. Seriously. I was not expecting to be so happy with a little solar light.

We’ve tried everything to get this light to work and it just won’t. Not sure if perhaps the one we have is defective or there is a step we are missing. Disappointing
