Finding a framing projector at this price is almost unheard of. Professional units go for between $300 to $600. This unit will not hold up to the rigors of professional use, but for the average home or apartment owner, you have stumbled upon a prize. The general public has no idea what this can do, that is project a solid rectangle of light onto your favorite painting, certificate, or objet d’art. It’s the type of projector used in museums to highlight various works of art. It’s no wonder they’re out of stock. It’s obviously not meant for track mounting although, if you’re handy, this will fit very nicely into a monopoint ceiling canopy, with the 12V transformer (in the base of the unit) fitting nicely into said ceiling canopy. Very easy install, magical effects.

When I received it, it would not turn on. I popped off the bottom cover and discovered one of the wires had come out of the wire harness. It was easy to press it back into place, but was a bit concerning and frustrating that I might have to return it. Luckily once I did that, the light operated as expected, with all remote functions working well. It is bright enough that I only have it about 50% bright in my home at night to light up artwork from 10 feet away. It uses about 6W of power at that level, not bad! On full brightness, it does get quite warm on the back. Adjustments were easy with the shutters. Be aware you have to unscrew the lens portion quite a bit if you want a sharp focus—the directions aren’t clear about that. Overall, a great value compared to similar devices ($400-600). I have it connected to a smart plug and turning that off then on returns the light to the on setting without having to use the remote again—very good for home automation! Quality seems good with a nice metal housing. Hopefully it will last a long time. Would be nice to have a white option, but the black one is fine.
