Excellent product, fit, form and function. Holes were dead on. Install was easy because of good manufacturing.Only one but and i'm only being picky here.It did not come in yellow, for my DWS779 sliding miter saw. It came in brown :-(It is so well made that it deserves to come in yellow. It does say that color may vary. Oh well ¯_(ツ)_/¯my luck.I do recommend this product if you don't mind what color you get.

The holes and everything line up, there's no front or back, but there is some slop in the insert. So I would recommend if you ever have to remove the insert and put it back in, lock the blade down in the insert so that it holds the insert where it was when the original cut was made. Makes a really clean edge though so no complaints there.

This insert is fantastic. It has a very sturdy and stable feel. It fits in place very nicely and the mounting screw holes all lined up perfectly. They even slightly recessed the back where the product sticker is so that the thickness of the sticker doesn't shim the insert on you. The yellow color is slightly off from that of Dewalt, but it is pretty darn close and really not even worth mentioning. Great quality. I generally make my own inserts but when I saw this I thought the price is right, lets give it a try. Very happy with it. Also bought one for my father.

Insert fit nicely into the saw. Nice and secure. Lowered blade and cut its is easy and does not affect the blade at all. Just go slow and blade cut in. Only thing threw a curve is the insert came looking like a brown wood insert instead of the DeWalt yellow. Perhaps there was a different option when I ordered it. Have not gone back and looked. Doesn’t matter at all. Insert makes for a nice clean cross cut. That is the point, not how it looks.

UPDATE: Hopped on Amazon to order a 2nd one for beveled cuts and am upset to see they’re currently unavailable. I standby my original review of this amazing zero clearance insert.I’ve owned the 12” Dewalt Sliding Miter with the XPS Cutting Light for several years (DWS 780) and have always loved using it. The only 2 negatives I’ve ever had with it are that Dewalt doesn’t make a zero clearance throat plate or fence for the saw to eliminate tear out on the backside of cuts. I had to rely on using painters tape on the backside of plywood and melamine, a very time consuming process. For this particular model of miter saw, there was only one or two aftermarket options and they were very pricey. I was ecstatic when Leecraft started making one and bought it right away. The results have been flawless. No tearout on the bottom of my plywood cuts. Now if only I could find an inexpensive option for a zero clearance fence...

This is an excellent well made product it fit my dewalt 779 perfectly. It was very easy to install . As with all zero clearance products it fits the blade you used to cut it with. If you change blades to a larger blade then it will be zero clearance for that blade only. Smaller blades will have a slight opening on each side. This is of course for only straight up and down cuts not angled or beveled.

The item description says "colors may vary". Well mine came in with a cheesy wood grain laminate finish which looks sort of like I'm trying to impress people into thinking I made my own throat plate out of actual wood. They should just stay with Dewalt yellow and leave the fake wood grain to the cheaper plates. On the plus side, it is very accurate in being level with the saw table and works very well.

Fit my DHS790 perfectly. The install was quick and easy. Did not need to remove fence. When screwing it down, go slow and easy, rotating which you tighten down like tire lugs so the softer material doesn't warp on you, which shouldn't happen but I like to be perfect. Use a hand driver. The only negative is you don't get to choose color. I wish I got the yellow just to match the DeWalt color. But no need to dock a star for that. The darker color actually provides a nice contrast with most lighter colored materials you may be cutting, and it matches the side frame's gray well.Cutting the kerf was messy and smelly due to the material so make sure you wear your eye and breathing protection.Happy cutting!
