This was a huge help since the pull chain in my original one broke. Instead of having it removed (in which I may have needed an electrician) I just took.out the lightbulb and screwed this right in and done!

Didn't realize pull chain only activated switch with bulb is down, like in a ceiling fixture.Will not activate if fixture points upward or from a side wall.Wish description was clear about this feature.

I don't often give 5 stars but this was a find a pull chain socket that is well built and works really well. I was not looking for much at this price But It's great does what I need . It was made for an over the head type light I am useing it foe a wall light As long as I pull out from the wall and not down .. No problem. But will up date later if I have any problems at all..

Originally bought this for a hall light were the switch was at the wrong end of the hall, but then I moved. But in came in handy in my bedroom at my new house, which has a ceiling light fixture, but no switch wired to it.

I was repeatedly replacing the overhead receptacle for the light so I made sure the power was on and just put the switch in and if it goes, easy fix!

I have 4 ceiling lights on the same switch in the 4 seasons room. I took the glass off them and used these sockets with the chains on all of them. I keep the light switch on. I put automatic motion nightlights on 3 of them so I now have a few options. Sockets are working 100%
