This little stepper really is great for having around so you can get that little bit of extra activity to make my goals on days when the weather is terrible and/or I don't want to drive to the gym. These devices have come a long way in the past 15 or so years when I tried my first one. It is well-made, small enough to stash in my already-nearly-full equipment closet, and so quiet! The pedals are wide and feel sturdy--I don't feel like I'll stumble off. I can step my way to my goals while watching a show if I'd like.That said, I weigh right at 100 pounds and found that I was stepping very slowly...like, I thought the resistance was too high. It still got my heart rate up, but I wanted to be able to move faster. Unfortunately, the resistance isn't adjustable. I thought maybe it needed to be "broken in" after being shipped and on my porch in the freezing cold, so I waited until the next day...same. My partner suggested maybe my weight wasn't enough so he got on to try. His 200 pounds definitely made it a faster journey to get the step down, but he said it still wasn't easy at all, providing a light workout. So, I put on an 18 pound weighted vest to try again. This made the difference! I was able to move the pedals at a steadier speed and feel like I was actually getting somewhere.Basically, this is a well-made, easy-to-use and -store machine that is convenient to have around; if you are petite, add some extra weight if you want to step more quickly!
