Rope Basket/Bag Making. Easy as 1-2-3
Step 1 Basket Making
Tightly coil your rope around itself 8 or 9 rotations, making sure it's snug but lies flat. Starting at one side, zigzag stitch across the circle.
Step 2 Basket Making
Backstitch to the end of the circle then stitch across, repeating as before. This will form the 5th and 6th arms of your star.
Step 3 Basket Making
Start as close to the center as possible, this will make the base sturdy. Your stitches will follow the spiral pattern of the coiled rope.
Step 4 Complete
You can make a basket or bag by starting with steps 1-3. You will be left with a stunning piece all your own.
