LEVEL Snowboard Gloves - BioMex wrist protection system

LEVEL's Proven BioMex Wrist Protection

The single most important feature of snowboard gloves with wrist guards is the the wrist protection system. LEVEL's industry leading BioMex wrist guards are proven more effective in reducing snowboard wrist injuries better than splint and flexible wrist supports.

LEVEL Gloves Plush Nose Wipe Material

Plush Nose Wipe Material

A nice touch from LEVEL. Plush material on the side of the thumb makes for a handy "nose wipe" feature. Your kid can simply reach up and wipe their nose on the lift or in the park - no worries.

LEVEL Snowboard Gloves Storm Leash

Storm Leash Included

Don't worry about dropping the gloves off the lift, or leaving them behind on the lodge table. The storm leashes allow you to attach the gloves/mittens to your little one and then forget about it....

LEVEL Snowboard Gloves - BioMex Wrist Protection

LEVEL SNOWBOARD GLOVES WITH BIOMEX WRIST GUARDS - WHY DO I NEED THEM?

There are good reasons to protect your wrists while you snowboard. The basic facts are:

  • Snowboarding can cause injuries, with fractures the most common type of serious injury
  • The most common location of an injury is the wrist (just under 40% of all snowboard injuries are wrist related)
  • Most (not all) wrist injuries can be prevented by wearing well designed wrist protection
  • You don't have to overspend to outfit yourself with effective and comfortable wrist protection
  • Don't wait until you get hurt to wear wrist protection
  • Suffering a wrist injury will result in lost time - on the mountain, at work, or doing other hobbies

LEVEL's BioMex wrist protection system is the result of an extensive, ongoing collaboration between snowboarders, the medical community, and engineers. A four-year study conducted by the St. Moritz (Switzerland) Orthopaedic Hospital involving more than 40,000 snowboard hours and more than 2,400 participants showed that snowboarders who wear conventional wrist guards are 4.5 times less likely to suffer wrist injuries over those who don't wear wrist guards at all. However, LEVEL's proprietary BioMex Wrist Protection System reduces the likelihood of a snowboard wrist injury by 7.5 times.

LEVEL BioMex gloves / BioMex wrist guards are uniquely effective in preventing wrist injuries. Why? Because the BioMex design strengthens your own bodies capability to deal with impact forces across 3 axis. Unlike other snowboard gloves with wrist guards inside, LEVEL's snowboard gloves with BioMex wrist guards inside keep your hands in an anatomically correct position during a crash.

All LEVEL snowboard protective gloves and mittens feature BioMex wrist guards and removable/washable interior liners. In addition, the Super Pipe and Half Pipe models also feature "BioMex Plus" dual density guards that offer higher resistance and advanced comfort over the standard BioMex models.

These are a ture size fit in my opinion, I use size 9 in work gloves and the size 9 in these is a perfect fit. Unfortunately after 3 days seams are coming apart... Unfortunately I can not return due to time lapsed. So don't expect them to last. For the money I'd expect better customer care

I have had a pair of these for many years and decided to get a backup pair to give a longer drying time when doing multiple days in a row. I use them for both boarding and skiing. I like the built-in wrist protection although I don't always tighten the wrist guards which is an extra step when putting on and taking off.

Pros:SturdyHas a support bracket. It should work but i haven't fallen yetWarm but not sweaty (unlike my previous burton first model)Has a removable liner for ez dryingWill cushion the blow if you hit the ball of your hand (i usually dont, i make fists)Lanyards are non elastic!!Cons:Fingertips non functional- see pic, with the hand fully inserted they just flop around - glove way longer than the linerThumb is kinda short. Ok for me though.Hard to fasten snowboard bindings in themThe support bracket kinda digs into the palm of your hand. But if you relax it you don't really feel it. I don't notice it's there.Don't know:If it is waterproof. Haven't used in rainHow well the wrist guard works. Haven't fallen.Order a size up. I am medium in everything and a large fits. My friend has smaller hands and a size down didn't work at all. You may not like the fit.

LOVE LOVE LOVE these gloves. I had a previous pair many years now but the velcro bust, had it fixed once but then decided to get a new pair. This time I got the goretex ones. They're bloody awesome. If you're a snowboarder I highly advise you get a pair. A few quid extra with the protection included (the biomex is not like normal standalone wrist guard, it's really comfortable).

Using provided sizing chart I ordered gloves that turned out to be 2 sizes too small -- be generous with your measurements. Glove and support (called a dovetail) supposedly works without provided liner glove (which would be too warm for all but the most brutally cold day); however, there is no good way to keep the dovetail positioned properly unless using just as bulky of a liner -- and I question the ability of the glove to keep it in position either way.I think the glove shell would be awesome on top of other wrist protection options as I drag my fingers in the snow a lot. Unfortunately for me, the glove size and retention system didn't work. I suggested to the company to make the dovetail integral to the glove so that it can not be miss positioned nor move out of proper alignment. For me $130 shell with what appeared o me to be insufficient support was not worth it. Returned with no problems.Wish Burton was still making their support glove circa 2005. Their current one does not get very good reviews on quality/construction side and they removed half the supports. I am now back to my original solution of using rollerblade wrist guards over a glove liner and inside a separate shell.

I did have the gloves repaired (sewn) a couple times over the past decade plus and last year the wrist guards finally broke, so I am buying a new pair. I only board a couple weeks a year so maybe they didn't see as much action as what some of you would put them through, but, I could not be happier and I just ordered a new pair. They have so many great features in addition to the built in wrist guard protection which has worked great for me.

Great company, the biomex protectors are nice. However the inserts and the literature for biomex are somewhat unclear on the perfect placement. Seems a little odd considering ortho MDs tested and designed it, they are notoriously meticulous about how to do things to their specifications. What is more obvious when wearing the gloves on mountain is that there is only one position where they both fit well and the splint feels correct. They handled impacts like a champ and are far better than the cheap Dakine or Red single/dual splints. Even if the gloves shred or fail in a few seasons you can reuse the biomex splints, so all in all if you need a minimal splint with peer reviewed science backing it up then these are your gloves.

These offer the BEST WRIST PROTECTION FOR SNOWBOARDERS! I have researched the field and have found that these gloves contain the most advanced and most actively studied form of wrist protection for snowboarders. Best yet, this wrist protection is built-on so it can't be forgotten. The gloves are still very comfortable and keep hands warm and dry on the mountain. I can't recommend these highly enough for any snowboarder (or their parents...;-)!

I was sure the protection was a joke!Until I fell that is. I have already broken both my wrists and have been riding with the Flexmeter protection. The Flexmeter is wonderful and gives a very good feeling of protection but it's a pain to put on. That and the gloves I had split open. These gloves are excellent! Warm and seem very durable. I had a whole season with them and they seem to hold up nicely. The protection does work. I still recommend for absolute beginners to go with the Flexmeters but once you learn to pull your hands in you will not get hurt. I would not ride without protection though and these are an excellent compromise between comfort and protection.2 Year update.Even better! These rock! After 2 years of hard use they are barely showing their age. The lining has packed out a bit but they still keep me warm (I run hot anyway so this might not apply to all). Best of all they did not tear and the Velcro is still holding. I had some Hestra gloves that did not stand this long. And the wrist protection? Definitely works. Will buy again (if they actually rip ever)

Great glove, toasty inside yet breathable to the point you don't really sweat on warmer times. The protection seems fine, after a season and tons of wipe outs my wrists are still intact :)My biggest problem is size that is on the smaller side. Generally large gloves fit my hands very well, but this large is a tighter squeeze. It is also on the expensive side, but it is a quality glove.
