I recently wore this in Alaska. After the first day I discarded the fancy thermal underwear and just wore it with a long sleeved t shirt. Kept me toasty. It's water resistant not waterproof. Only caveat is I wish the side and interior pockets had zip closures. Otherwise a great buy.

I was interested in a heavyweight down style jacket similar to Canada goose or Carhartt but I wasn’t ready to spend the money associated with the brands. They jacket is very, very warm and keeps the wind at bay. I took this to NYC twice in 50 degree weather and 20 degree weather. The only places I felt cold or wind was from the wrist down or neck up. The jacket was very warm and probably annoyed my wife with my raves of how warm I was with only a long sleeve t-shirt underneath. I had so-so gloves that didn’t keep my hands warm and I put my hands in the pockets of the jacket and were good to go. This jacket also packs easily into smaller bags for travel.

Since I've been going to the gym, I wanted a jacket that will accommodate my shoulders. I purchased an XL and it fits great. Extremely warm and the hood works really well. My torso are puffs out a little, I wish there was an elastic adjustment around the bottom to tighten it up but it still looks okay. This isn't a jacket where you'd expect to reach high places. If you do, you may rip it. This jacket also goes into my arm pits so you can expect the jacket smelling around that area over time, but if you wear layers, it's less likely. Lastly the pockets are great. The side pockets keep my hands warm even without gloves. I would say this jacket is more casual than utility. Casual rating 9/10 because of arm pit room. Utility rating 6/10 because range of motion, etc.

I bought this jacket as a gift for my husband. And he’s super happy with it! The jacket is great and stylish. And the most important that it’s very warm, especially a hood. It’s comfortable to wear this jacket during the freezing days ( was wearing -20C/-4F). And it’s also true to size, my husband wears size S/M so bought Medium and it fits great!
