The gilt cream is easy to apply, I used a toothbrush as demonstrated on u-tube, and the finish is excellent.

It does have a shelf life, even unopened, although there is no date mark on jar. Hope you get a fresh jar and don't let it sit around too long after opening.

I love this stuff, been using it for years in various colors.nice thing is that you can refresh the material if it gets hard. DONOT THROW IT AWAY. I think I used Mineral spirits
