This is an enormous photo light box and can fit fairly large products inside of it. It's great for things about the size of kitchen appliances, like a microwave. I used the lightbox to take photos of a full sized foam roller both laying down and standing up, without the walls getting in the frame. You've got a lot of space to work with here.Technically, this light box is portable since it can be taken apart and placed in a bag for carrying, but I think it's better for setting up more permanently in a room dedicated to photography or in a photo studio. All of the parts are fairly heavy and the light box takes quite a while to put together. If you do plan to put it up and take it down regularly, just plan on setting aside a decent amount of time to do it. It took me about an hour my first time and maybe 30-40 minutes now that I have some experience. It takes me about 20 minutes to take it down and put everything away.I have a smaller 16"x16" light box that requires pretty much no assembly at all. The walls are attached and you simply unfold it and it connects with velcro. It takes a minute to set up. Maybe this lightbox is too big for something like that to work here but I wish it was more like that.You have to build the square frame by connecting metal poles using 3-way elbows, sort of like a kids tent set. That part takes some time, but is fairly easy. But the hard part is trying to fit the cover over the box. The cover is so large that it's hard getting it over the box and figuring out which part of the cover you're holding and moving around.Once you have the cover on, you can snap the lights into place. There are three lights and the end of each one has a rounded connector that snaps onto the top frame bars. I tried connecting the lights with the connectors facing down at first, but I've found that it's way easier to connect upward, from the bottom of the frame bars. There's a hole on the top of both the right and left side of the box for the wires to come out. You'll want to pull those through so they aren't visible in your photos. Then you can connect it to the AC adaptor.The AC adaptor is somewhat large and heavy. The cord is also very short so it pulls on the wires if you let it hang. I have to get an extension cord, even though I'm really close to an outlet. The AC adaptor has a dial built into it, which is how you control the brightness of the lights. The lights get quite bright, which is great.The quality of the backdrop sheets is excellent. They're made of thick PVC so it holds its shape and you can wipe it down if it gets dirty. I received a black, blue, and two white sheets.The kit also comes with a diffuser sheet if you want to use that as a lighter backdrop or to diffuse the lights at the top. I think it's too thin to use as a backdrop, but works fine for diffusing light.The lights get warm fast so you might want to give the lights a break during longer shoots.Once it's put together, the light box works great. The lights are bright and you can take photos from either the front or the top.

First off I'll say that if this was something I had been able to return I would have done so immediately due to the smell alone! I am not sensitive to smells and fully understand that some things come with a chemical or plastic type of smell but this was like nothing I'd ever experienced. It was an extreme musty, wet basement smell. I don't know if it was stuck on a wet/flooded cargo ship for a while or what, but I couldn't keep it in the house. I decided to take it outside and scrubbed all sides with a vinegar and water mix and then Fabuloso, and it still stunk. I then put it together to help it air out and after a week it still smelled. When I say still smelled, I mean if you got within several feet of it outside you could smell it. I then sprayed it multiple times inside and out with 2 kinds of fabric disinfectants and had to let it sit outside for another 2 weeks before finally being able to bring it in the house. What an inconvenience.That being said the photo box itself is fantastic! It is much bigger than I expected any photo box to be, so if ordering, be sure to check the measurements and make sure you have ample space for it. It is very sturdy and was pretty simple to put together. It comes with different photo backgrounds as well. I typically just use the white, but it's nice to have those other options. The lighting is fantastic and my photos have never looked better!If it weren't for the smell, I would recommend without question. If deciding to order, I would advice to make sure that the item can be returned, and to check it immediately upon arrival so that you can send it back if necessary. I noticed at least 1 other reviewer had the same issue, but maybe not quite as bad, so just be aware.
