You'd figure for the price it would be for a larger hammer head, 8oz or smaller, not for larger

Handle has a twist, and the grain does not run the entire length of handle."Contractor Grade" does that mean lower quality or poorer finish? I don't know. But this handle will break easier because of the grain does not run the entire length of the handle. In addition, I discovered only after I started to fit the handle that the handle has a slight twist to it. Meaning I had to rotate the head position during fitting so that the grip and the hammer head would be in alignment. Since I didn't pay close enough attention before I started fitting the head, I guess I am stuck with it. We'll see how long it lasts before breaking along the grain line.

I bought the 14” handle for 16oz -24oz ball-peen handle. I got the cheapest option at $8 i think it said “contractor grade”. I am a contractor, not a machinist, so this handle worked fine for my 16oz estwing ball-peen head. The grain was pretty close to parallel with the swing, and the slot cut in the top was off center. And i had to file it down quite a bit in order for it to fit, But im happy with it because you get what you pay for, and for 8$ it met my needs.

The handle I received was finished nicely and included wood and metal wedges. It fit a ball peen hammer head I had lying about. I had to extend the top cut for the wood wedge with a hand saw because the hammer opening was a bit oversize, causing the wedge end to protrude more than normal.

It's a handle. No cracks, no defects. Says made in USA. Came with two wood wedges and one metal ribbed wedge. Fit my old craftsman 14 oz (!) (yes, 14, weighed it) head so tightly I could barely get the metal wedge in. It's the kind of handle that you used to find in every hardware store, but seems to have disappeared. Will definitely buy this brand again for other fixer upper tool projects.

It's a nice handle feels solid and a nice medium weight to it. Good thing it came with the wood wedge and metal barb wedge or else ID have to make it. I've been abusing it for about a month now and its still tight and hasn't come loose. I really love the fact it doesn't have that ugly hard clear coat on it. It feels like I could swing all day and not get a blister. It also means because its only wax it does get dirty which I don't mind. In the picture is my own 18oz hammer head i made

I like these a lot better than the polyurethane coated handles! Easy to remove the wax and apply a nice oil finish. Attached a photo of this handle mounted to an old 16oz Oak Leaf brand ball pein hammer and coated with boiled linseed oil. There was a lot of filing involved because the eye of this hammer was not a standard modern size.I recommend searching for and viewing the Link Handle catalog in pdf. It was very helpful in my selection process because these listings do not contain much information.
