The tool is a little long if you don’t have the metal nerds version, but a quick lift of the engine on the mounts and can do the job ‘in car’ so the alternator stays put. Easy and quick once you have the correct wrench too!

Had to swap the pulley on an alternator so we got this kit for the decoupler pulley. Broke the first time we used it, didn't take the pulley off either. Too be fair this was a pretty rusted looking unit. I had a no hassle exchange and got a replacement tool. 2nd time did the trick. Have used it on one other job with no issues. Looking like the 1st broken one was either defect or just bad luck. Works as described, good customer service, only time will tell on longevity.

Very nice kit. I used it to replace the alternator pulley on a 2005 Grand Caravan. The kit worked very well. I was not able to replace pulley with the alternator installed in the van. I had to remove alternator to install. Kit worked perfect. The kit has various sizes so it should work on many applications but again I only used on a 05 Grand Caravan. Very simple to use.

Like most Lisle tools this one has the feeling that it is right on the edge of breaking every time you use it but so far it's holding up great. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's great value and despite feeling flimsy it gets the job done! I used it to remove the stock pulley from the alternator on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan and to install the new pulley.

Bought it in a pinch. Got it next day delivery cause I needed it super fast. It got the job done and was very strong. I ended up having to use a longer stronger breaker bar to get the old rusted nut out of the alternator and the tool held up. I seriously thought that the tool might break. Eventually after persuasion and lubrication the nut broke free and the tool lives to fight another day!

I used this to install the alternator decoupler pulley from Gates Enhancement Kit 39068K2 (Tensioner, Belt, & Decoupler Pulley) on a 2006 Toyota Corolla LE. Having replaced the stock tensioner with the OE part from Toyota twice already and the subsequent failure of another one I found that Gates has a permanent fix that comes with a decoupler pulley which I had never installed on a car before and consequently did not have the correct tool for. I couldn't find a local Auto Zone that had the tool in stock and since I have had several occasions where the tool they provided for my application didn't actually work I decided that this very reasonably priced tool was worth the purchase price especially with free shipping. The tool worked perfectly and was an excellent value.

I purchased this tool set to remove the old pulley out of my alternator. However, the old pulley was stuck and unable to turn it loose using this tool. Finally, I removed and took the alternator to a shop near by my house and they were able to loosen the pulley with air tool impact wrench. This was a reason that I gave it a 3 stars. Hopefully, I will be able to use it again on different cars.
