This allows you to keep the relay in the circuit in this way: you plug this device into the relay socket, and then plug the relay into the top of this device. The circuit will still operate exactly as it did before. The difference is that the device has terminals on the side that correspond to the pins on the relay, so you can use your multimeter to test the trigger, ground, output etc without needing to do destructive back probing. I love this thing.

I used this item to diagnose an intermittent 2008 CRV AC problem. It allowed me to measure all contact voltages on the AC relay as it was functioning. I was able to determine the relay was operating properly even as the clutch stopped. I am having the thermal protect switch replaced.
