I found this sander to be adequate, It has a little more vibration than I am used to, and is harder to control when in use. The switch is terrible, it has a thick cover over it that makes it hard to push. The speed range is impressive, at the highest setting it is much faster than any of the sanders I own, but the vibration is higher with speed as well. After about 30 minutes of use (at the highest setting), the cord was pretty warm, and the body of the unit was uncomfortably hot. Honestly, I think there are several better options out there for a few dollars more, but if this is all that fits in your budget it's perfectly useable. I wouldn't recommend it for large jobs or extended use.

I used this to prepare my home-build mantle organizer that I built with solid walnut. I used the 120 grit paper, and it performed as expected. Since my organizer was a series of cubbies, the sander just barely fit between the shelves. This is where the superior design of the collector bag was most helpful. I had the shelf on its side, so I had to lower the sander down, and I was able to grab the metal bag support and use it to guide the sander while sanding. This was possible because it is a solid support fastened securely to the tool. It is a good sign when a manufacturer does not cheap out on the small things. My previous sander just had four plastic prongs that would not have helped here.It has a speed control feature that runs faster before a load is put on it. Once you start sanding, it maintains a constant (albeit slower than with no load) speed as you apply more pressure. I like that feature. It is not orbital, but I'm not sure why those even exist- who just holds it still anyway? The vibration on my hands was much improved over my previous brand.

This is a really nice sander. It fits well in the hand and has a dust collection bag so it's better on the lungs. We needed a sander for a project were doing so its not like we'll be using this constantly and for some big construction. I also like that it comes with extra pads. So far, its a great sander.

5-Inch Rotary Sander with Variable Speeds control and Dust Collector. There is a rubber grip handle to improve control, and at lower speeds, vibration was minimal. The hook & loop, backed sanding discs, are generously supplied in 80, 100, and 120 grits. The discs are easy to attach and remove and don’t require adhesive. They are pre perforated allowing dust removal into the cloth collector bag. Does a respectable job keeping the work surface clean. Rubber covered on-off switch and a step-less speed control. My use was for quick prep of small molding and trim work but it’s still tough enough for larger jobs, with intermittent use. Finer Grits are available up to 2000 making it a good hand tool for buffing and polishing aluminum, painted surfaces, fiberglass, automotive body, stone, and plastic applications.

This little orbital sander is pretty powerful, the sander has a good overall quality look and feel to it, the sander has a decent rubber like grip on the top of it that makes it easy to hold on to and I like that the grip fits nicely in the palm of my hand, so the sander is really easy to control, the sander has 6 speeds that can be adjusted by the speed wheel on the side of the handle, I also like that the speed wheel can easily be reached with one finger, so you can adjust the speed without having to stop sanding, the sander also does a really decent job of directing most of the dust to the dust collection bag, but you can also connect a shop vac to the sander, which really does a great job at collecting the dust, the sandpaper pad on the sander holds the sandpaper in place great, all in all this is a solid little orbital sander, I am very happy with this product and for the price in my opinion it's a good value.

So far, my husband is pleased with this orbital sander. We got it to take care of some projects around the house, like lightly sanding and refinishing a cabinet that has suffered a few dings and to smooth patched woodwork before repainting it. This sander works really well for these purposes. He also plans to use it for some carpentry projects in the garage. I appreciate that it comes with a bag to collect dust (one of my pet peeves for home projects of this nature). It doesn't do a perfect job of collecting the dust, but in combination with some common-sense space prep, it does help to minimize it. This tool is making my husband's honey-do projects around the house easier--and making his honey happy in the process.

This is a nice 5-inch orbital sander that is simple to use and works well. The construction is nice but I'm not yet certain how long it will last. If you're looking for something for a project or very occasional use, this would be great. If you are doing more frequent work that requires a sander, a proven name brand is likely a better choice. Thís sander comes with a dust collection bag and an assortment of discs. It is possible to adapt a shop vac to the outlet rather than use the bag as it reduces but doesn't eliminate the dust.

A very nice variable speed sander and extremely comfortable grip for those with larger hands. It packs a lot of power, the dust collector is easily removeable for easy dumping and has a full metal frame to keep the bag expanded. The controls are easily accessible and intuitive. I really can't think of much not to like. It's just an all around very nice and well thought out tool.
