Got this as a gift for my nephew and it did keep him entertained we could not figure out what the black pieces was for and how to attach it. Thought it was going to take pictures but this only magnifies with light.

I had a pocket microscope similar to this when I was a kid, and decades later I still have it. This one is a little nicer than the one I had. I really think every kid should have something like this. It's nice for kids to be able to explore their world and find out all the little details that you didn't know were there.The microscope enlarges things enough so that you can see details you can't unaided, but not so much that it's difficult to focus or to even know what you are look at, as it can be with actual full-sized microscopes. If you put this on a page of a magazine, you'll be able to see the individual dots that make up the colors. If you put it on a screen, you'll see the pixels. It's a very cool toy and a fantastic gift idea.
