Only the cooking tin is stainless and got a reaction from my magnet. The rest appears to be aluminum.

I found something that works with the military canteen set an very . very good to use with the canteen an pouch you got to take the bail handle off an the lid an move around a little an will fit into a pouch , Will work into mollie pouch an a old school pouch with a little bit of thinking where to put the bail handle an lid you got to have 2 canteen set . I used it as soon as it came in . I love the set ! Well worth the money !

Turns cold food into hot food quite well where applicable, and capable of boiling filtered water for drinking if required as well. Canteen cup and lid are both stellar as is. Stove needed additional ventilation holes around the bottom, so this obviously requires some minor labor to be done right, but it's still not enough to call this item anything less than "five-star". Fits in a helikon E&E pouch with nalgene canteen/sawed off plastic utensil set/weird old stainless spoon I dug up around a rundown trailer park my grandparents lived in forty years ago. Fine bit of kit, but use it a few times before you pack it under that canteen for future hard-times. Know how to do it before you -need- to know how to do it. Can of beef stew tastes a lot better hot. I keep threatening to get a little alcohol stove that fits under it, but so far I just burn whatever's handy. Sticks and twigs, or even baged instant-light charcoal has been fine. 10/10 will eat-from again!

I use it for trail cookinng...making coffee...char cloth and even digging cat holes..Great for heating water and soup

I gave this 4 stars because it's something I bought last minute, and it pulled me through. But it will not last, in my town there's nowhere to buy items like this. I ordered this and I got it on the second day.The stand is good and it works, the lid fits. The cup... That's a whole nother story. The material on the cup is super thin that the bottom warped on the first heat, I used a trangia stove. The wire wings seem like it's coated spaghetti, they're loose and they flap around. Usually they click together to form the handle, these don't.

Only gripe is it does not fit US Surplus canteen pouches well.I can fit it into a MOLLE II pouch with a bit of effort, but it will not fit a Vietnam era or Alice pouch at all.

Very please with this product. Well made and heavier than expected. The removable hanging handle that locks down the lid to the cup is a nice addition to the this old trusted design. Far exceeds the old military issue.Definitely recomend this product and may purchase a second one for my other canteen.
