I do a lot of long exposure night shots where my camera heats up quite a bit. I was suspected the heat was impacting my sensor so I used this fan and the problem resolved itself. It is effective as brining the temperature down on the body of my Sony camera on long exposures so I am verbally happy with it.The fan isn't loud, but if you are using this to cool a camera while shooting video you will definitely want a separate microphone as the fan would likely be picked up from a shoe mounted mic.The battery is decently powerful, but I tend to run mine off of a power bank on my sky tracking tripod via USB.

I have a Canon R7, and I regularly shoot long videos in 4K Fine, which causes the camera to heat up. At typical room temperature, I can get about 40-45 minutes of continuous recording until the camera overheats and shuts down. When shooting long videos, I usually place a USB fan right next to the camera, which allows it to run indefinitely. This, however, is awkward. I need to balance it just right, and not have it touch the camera or vibrations will affect the video. It's also quite loud. This cooling fan, which attaches to the back of the R7, addresses these issues. First, it's completely self-contained, so it can even be used when your camera is mobile and not fixed to a tripod. Second, it's extremely compact. Third, it's relatively quiet. If you use the internal mic you will pick up the fan noise, but I always use separate mics (usually a wireless lav mic on the presenter) so that's not a concern. It's still quieter than any standalone USB fan I have tried. It has a rechargeable battery which, at full speed, lasted me 5 hours until the low battery warning (blinking red light) and 6 hours 10 minutes before it finally stopped (after a few minutes of reduced speed). It also runs just fine off USB-C, so if you are in a fixed location and can plug it in you don't have to worry about battery life.It also sufficiently kept the camera cool. The temperature did creep up after an hour or so, but never got into the "warning" range on my camera; it only ever got one orange bar after several white bars in the thermometer gauge. At room temperature I was able to run the camera continuously until the memory card was full, about 3 hours and 20 minutes, without it ever overheating. So this was a big success, compared to 45 minutes without the fan or the hassle of a regular USB fan.My main concern other than cooling ability and noise was vibration. With it attached directly to the camera, I was concerned it would make the video shake. This seems to not be a major problem. The fan has foam where it contacts the back of the camera to mitigate this. And even at max fan speed and max telephoto I could only detect the smallest hint of vibration in the video.

I use this cooling fan on my Sony A6700. Fits nice and snug. The spring loaded end provides just the right amount of pressure to keep the fan securely placed while I'm recording at 4K.I wanted to give this a try as the A6700 is infamous for overheating and, wow, am I glad I did. I have been able to keep recording without worrying about the camera overheating or this device falling off! Very handy and necessary for my use.The device is built of hard plastic and does not feel cheap. It comes included with a USB-C to USB-C cable which speaks to its quality and design and has 2 speed/gear options that displays a different colour based on what speed you're on. This comes in really handy when you want to know what speed the fan is on when recording and you don't want to touch the camera to create possible shake. Overall, very well built and a clean design. If you're in the market for a cooling fan for your digital camera (full frame, APSC or DSLR), definitely give this one a try. You will not be disappointed! At the time of this review, this fan also includes a 20% coupon which makes it even better!!

This llano camera cooling fan is very compact and light weight. The unit is made entirely of plastic and seems super simple like a small pc fan in a plastic housing. The unit charges via the usb-c port on the top side of the unit and has a small spring mechanism that allows you to snug it up to your camera after flipping out the screen. The back of the unit is lined with some foam is the part of the fan that will be in contact with your camera. This foam does a good job of protecting your camera from getting scratched by the fan and also provides some dampening to the spinning fan so that the vibrations aren't being transfered into your camera causing shaky footage. The fan can be activated by pressing the single button on the front of the unit and can cycle between two modes (low speed and high speed) which is also toggled by clicking that same button. So one press activates low mode, a second goes into high mode, and a third click turns the unit off. I love how simple the interface is and there is a nice little colored indicator showing you what speed setting you are on (green is low mode, blue is high mode). The fan is nice and quiet in either mode but definitely quieter in the lower mode.Overall I think this is a nice little unit to just have in your camera bag in case you do run into overheating problems. I use both a FX3 and A7IV from Sony but have not run into overheating with either camera yet. At $40 I think it's a little steep for such a simple little gadget but if it can save you out on a shoot than the insurance of that alone is worth it.

I was admittedly dubious about whether or not this V5 cooling fan for cameras from brand LLANO would actually be a solid fit for my camera, but it was on the list of approved devices, so I decided to give it a try.I had seen advertisements for the X-H2 and X-H2s, each upgrades over my camera, now having official fans designed for them, but the X-T4 is still a solid video shooter; touting 4K 60fps with IBIS, even 240fps at 1080p; it can record stabilized video internally to 10bit/H265 at a bit rate of 400Mbps — this is incredibly impressive honestly, and the results in this mode are still very stunning. The only caveat is it can be prone to a little overheating too, no better or worse than newer cameras in its class though. But just the same, I didn't have any solution to cool it down on a hot day.As it turns out, this external cooler is a great fit for the X-T4 as well as several other models/brands, and it looks right at home sitting comfortably on the backside of my camera where the LCD flips out, as though it were designed just for this camera. It does this with a spring-loaded mechanism that pushes back until it is flush with your particular camera, and the pressure keeps it affixed in place. This seems to work very well; the cooling fan is light, but made of hard plastics and seems very durable. The fan doesn't seem to be incredibly powerful, but it is more than enough I think to get the job done. When the weather is warmer i will certainly be putting this unit through its paces, but for the moment it seems to be a great solution to an issue that had definitely concerned me. 4 stars.

I've been using this fan for a few months on an a7iv while shooting continuous 4k 30 10bit s-log3 cine footage.Sound: With a mic on top of the camera, you can hear the fan when its on high but I haven't noticed it on low. Its actually pretty quiet. Realistically, you only need a little bit of air flow to be effective.Cooling: Only my camera, I've only even had heating issues during long interview shoots in the sun on a warm day. Usually, just pulling the screen away from the body is enough but having this little fan adds a bit of thermal headroom. Nothing worse than having a camera turn off while your giving an interview and not knowing it. Second takes are never as good as the first. I have noticed that the back of the camera (where it radiates it's heat) is noticeably cooler when using the fan in harsh conditions vs. not using it. (I've only been using it on low)Fit: Fit is pretty good. With the screen open it clicks nicely in place. The air flow seems to be well though out. Build quality is pretty nice too. It's a nice little piece of kit.Bottom line: It's been a great addition to my field kit. Seems to last as long as advertised. Low speed has been perfect.

The fan looks and feels cheap , very plastic all aroundNoise level , it’s essentially noiseless so it won’t interfere with audioFitment on the zve1 works , it should fit any Sony flip screenCooling gave it about an extra 7-10 minutes before the camera shut downThe fan will outlast the Sony Battery with no issue so no need to start stop the fan every time you record so that’s goodThe light bar on the back gets smaller as the energy goes down to show you the wear level it’s atPriced similar to other ones on the market ,3 stars for not great but not bad either
