You receive 4 pairs (8 total) leather thimbles that can be used for hand-sewing, needle-felting, embroidery, punch rug hooking, knitting, crocheting, or other sewing related crafts. instead of a traditional metal thimble. They come in 2 sizes in the package- 4 to fit the thumb and 4 to fit other fingers, generally the index and third fingers. Honestly, I'd never used leather thimbles (finger guards) before, but they seem thick enough to prevent needles from puncturing and thin enough to be flexible. The only issue I noted when practicing with them is that they tend to slip off my fingers since my fingers are small. Other than that, I believe they will be useful for me.

These leather finger protectors do a good job of helping avoid the pain of sharp jabs and repeated pressure from pushing through material. I really like that they comes in a number of different sizes and they work well for my average size lady fingers. They are comfortable, easy to put on and take off, and I happen to really like their bluish-grey color. If you are working with really tough material such as thick commercially tanned hide leather, you probably want finger protection that is also thicker. But if you are working with cloth fabric, these will do the job quite nicely and at a good value.
