How to check brake pads for wear?
Through the holes in the hubcap, some brake pads have a wear indicator down the center of the pad.
Through measure the thickness. If less than 1/4" it might be time to change them.
If you can't see the brake pads through the wheel cover, you'll have to raise the vehicle and remove the tire to inspect the brake pad.

I firmly did my due diligence before purchasing these brakes, but I guess I either received some defective brakes, or these do not in fact fit a 2016 Buick Encore. Even though they looked great out of the box, once I was able to have the mechanic put them on, drove away and noticed that they make a squealing noise at least 8 out of the 10 times when you press the brakes. Frustrated because now my mechanic has to remove them and then I have to send them back.....essentially I am being charged twice, once to put them on and then to remove them from the mechanic..... I will never purchase this brand, and may never use Amazon for brakes again.......
