Replaced an identical fan that we had for several years. Easy to install and fairly quiet for now. Thank you.

Put it up early this summer and the attic is considerably more cool! I go up there a lot to store things and this made it almost bearable in our 95 degree summer weather in Alabama this summer. Pretty quiet but think I'll add some rubber washers this fall when it cools down enough to actually work up there again.Worked for last year and died this year in August. Have a hard time understanding how a fan dies. When I was a child we had a window fan that lasted until I had kids of my own.

Our attic had a ridge vent and nothing else. The design of the house didn't allow for soffit venting, so instead we installed two gable vents and put this fan in the "super hot in the afternoon West end" of the house to pull air through. We absolutely love it. It was a stifling hot summer and the new attic gable vents along with this fan dropped our 2nd floor by 10 degrees easily. The fan is on a thermostat that works perfectly. It's quiet, too. The first day my husband came home and didn't even realize it was on. It's right above our bedroom and we barely hear a hum. Initially it didn't turn off even at 75 degrees, so we changed the setting on the thermostat just a bit and now it turns on/off at a good temperature. We also had it rigged with a kill switch and an always on switch, just in case we decide down the road to go with whole house ventilation.Since we are not contractors we had many questions before our purchase. We called the company directly and spoke with very friendly, patient and knowledgeable people. After we ordered just what we wanted, we hired a contractor to install. We would highly recommend this company and this fan.

This is in response to the product description more than quality. I'm a layman (to say the least...actually I'm an artist who is not handy at all - I'm all about duct tape and super glue). The description for product dimensions lists this as 17 x 17 x 6 inches. I assumed that was a 17" diameter on the circular housing of the fan. It's not. That describes the outer measure of the mounting tabs that you see in the picture. That's my only point...to help fellow non-handy persons. I thought I'd save money by buying it myself. My electrician might be able to work with it, but the hole in our roof for the fan we're taking out is bigger. I'm hoping they can rig it.It looks well-constucted. Will update if I end up using it. Gable Fan, Part Deux.

The Lomanco 1800 was really easy to install. It moves a lot of air and cools the attic and garage. I could stand on the ground 10 feet below the vent and feel the air movement. The only issue I had was vibration while running, making a horrible racket. I ended up using two pieces of 1/4" foam sandwiched together between the the mounting brackets and the plywood/studs. Two for each side. I also boxed in the fan on top and bottom and foam sealed around the edge of the fan and plywood. This way there will be not air leakage around the edges.Once mounted with the foam as a dampener it was quiet. Not rattle, no vibration. It has made such a difference in temp of the garage that the floors of the bedrooms above are no longer warm on really hot days.I would recommend this over some of the cheaper fans out there, just be aware of the vibration.

This fan is solid build and quite easy to install. Personally, I felt the sound that it produces is tolerable and I was not overwhelmed by it.

I bought this fan based on reviews that it was one the quietest of the field. Unfortunately, it hums and has a minor vibration., even with replacement motor and blade. I had to isolate the steel mounting tabs between two pieces of medium firmness packing foam, and then mount it with plywood over the foam, screwing it to the studs through the plywood making sure that the screws didn't touch the fan's mounting tabs. It is barely quiet enough so we are able to be in the master bathroom and bedroom that is below the fan.It is sad that, with all of the technology we have, we cannot make a motor that doesn't hum and a a blade that is balanced.

When my attic fan seized up after 22 years (and zero care or maintenance by me) I went online to find a replacement. I looked at solar powered fans, but their cost was too high. I was happy to find the exact make and model of my previous attic fan offered through Amazon.com, so I ordered it and couldn't be happier. This fan is well built, reasonably quiet and comes with a factory-set adjustable thermostat (switches on at 100 degrees and off at 85 degrees). The thermostat box includes a push-to-test switch. The fan comes with clear instructions and a five-year warranty against any defects due to workmanship, parts or mechanical failure. Best of all, it's made in the USA. My fan is running as I write this and should pay for itself in no time!
