The items themselves, seem sturdy and should last a long time. The flexible stem is stainless steel and probably won't rust, with a bit of care. I wanted the long brush to push down into the bathroom sink to clean the sludge off the drain pipe. Unfortunately, the bristles on the brushes are too soft to do the job. I would compare the brush stiffness to the brushes that are used to clean out reusable straws.

I needed to clean the drains in my convertible car, (which is an essential task to do frequently to avoid ingress of water inside the cabin due to clogged drains) and these long and flexible spring wired brushes are perfect to the task. These are super versatile, made of stainless steel to resist corrosion, and they’re super flexible to easily clean, pass thru tight bends in narrow passages, and softly scrub and unclog all drain ducts and tubing. It comes with a sturdy nylon tip that will brush in a gently way, without scratching or damaging the duct and tubing. On the other end, a hand ring attached helps to easily extract the brush.With a total length of 5 ft, it was more than enough to cover the distance across the whole drains ducts and reach the end holes, making sure that the full ducts were completely cleared of debris. I found out that inserting the brush in the tube and moving it back and forth, feeding it deeper and deeper with each pass until you ‘feel’ that any clog is removed and the passage is free of debris.These brushes make this task a lot easier to handle and also faster than using a nylon string. It is an affordable accessory to have at your disposal for this specific task. Recommended.(Reviewed by Handyman)

This is a great set of drain brushes. Made from stainless steel with a pulling ring on one end and tubular brush on the other end, it is far more flexible than the flat plastic strips with hook-like edges typically used to clear bathroom sink drains. It is flexible enough to get through places the plastic strip hands up and pulling to remove it is easier than pulling the plastic ones with the barbs on them that catch on things. The end of the brush has a covering on the tip to avoid scratching the pipe where you insert it. Often the bathroom sink is cleaned well enough just by repeatedly pushing and pulling the brush through the drainpipe and P-Trap, and this is long enough to reach well beyond that P-Trap. The brush dislodges stuff inside the pipe and running warm water while brushing the drain helps move that stuff down to be washed into the sewer system. It can really open up sluggish drains. The short brushes are suitable for cleaning water bottles and straws. These brushes can be used on a variety of other places around your home, but the two cases I mentioned are reason enough to get them. And they are relatively inexpensive, too.

These brushes are just what we needed to clean the sunroof drain on our 3 SUVs. The solid construction and rigid, but flexible design ensures you can really get in the tight areas without the brush bending to the point where it would be ineffective. We also found uses for cleaning humidifiers, metal straws and even thermos spouts. The food grade stainless steel holds up to use and is easy to clean.

This was a very useful drain brush. The length of it was helpful and made it easy to snake into areas. I used it to unclog a garbage disposal drain and it worked well for that. I need to try it on one of my toilets because it's not flushing very well but I haven't had a chance to do that yet. Hopefully it will help, assuming it's a drainage problem.
