This cord is plenty long, so you can easily snake it through your car's plastic interior without any problem. No more struggling with a short power cord!

I needed a replacement cord for my Uniden R7 radar detector and found this on Amazon. Very pleased with it. The original Uniden cord was coiled and somewhat short - this one is nice and long and not coiled. Worked great, and the mute button on the plug end of the cord also works compatibly with my detector. Good overall value.Recommended.

I've only had this cord installed for 2 days now but so far so good. It seems to be made of good quality material and the cord is plenty long. The only downside is there isn't a mute button like on the original cord, but for half the price I'm just fine with that. If I do have any problems with it I will come back and update my review.

Valentine One makes excellent radar detectors. I've used them exclusively for 20+ years. The problem today is that the "direct wire kit" provided by Valentine One is a pain to install in new vehicles unless you get it done by a specialty shop and then it will cost you $150 - if they will do it. Simply stated, you need to locate a 12v power source close to the Valentine One unit that provides power only when the ignition is "on" and turns off when the ignition is off. Otherwise the Valentine One can drain your battery if the vehicle is parked for an extended period of time. AND you enough room to tuck the bulky little Valentine One power converter out of sight and not disturb any other wiring. When I was stupid enough to own BMW's, the dealer would NOT install the Valentine One direct wire power taps because then they did install after market power sources, a few of their "experienced" techs set off air bags and one blew up a vehicle CPU that cost the dealer thousands of dollars. Today, my former BMW dealer will not install any electrical device not supplied by BMW. The same goes for Subaru and Mazda and likely many other car manufacturers. So what does a Valentine One user do? Run a longer wire to the 12v outlet in the car. That's safe, it's easily removed, works well and when done properly is totally concealed. The problem is that Valentine One only makes an 8 foot power cord (it's actually a phone cord) and it's not long enough to run through a larger vehicle like an SUV from the windshield visor to the 12v outlet that's in the console. You also need the Valentine One 12v plug plus 2 x 8 foot power cords + shipping = about $40 plus the connector to join the 2 x 8 foot power cords for another $3 from Amazon.I've tried using longer phone cords from Amazon and other sources and many of them will not power up the Valentine One because of how the wire pattern is set up. It's really annoying trying to find an aftermarket phone cord that will power up a Valentine One.This long generic power cord solves all those issues for about $14 and it works great. It's well made, heavy duty and easy to install if you are careful and simply tuck the wire under body parts. Hope that helps!

I should have listend to the negative reviews on this one.Product looks nice and I liked the long cord. Unfortunately, it does not work. I connected it to my V1 and plugged it into the car chargers in my vehicle. The V1 did not power upI then plugged it into the car chargers in other vehicles and again, the V1 did not power up. In both scenarios, I plug in my old V1 charger and the the V1 powers up.Not sure if this is just not compatible or if it was DOA. won't take a chance with replacing it with the same since my V1 cost mucho dinero

It is a cord. What can I say? It transport power just fine from my cigar plug to my radar detector. This length is very good when you want to hide the cable behind the trimming around the windshield and connect to the fuse box so it is not hanging in the middle.
