I was very dissapointed when I received this dress as it looks beautiful in the pictures. The Amazon description said the fabric was Shantung but the dress tag read "100% Polyester," which is false advertising. The fabric was frayed in places and the cheap embroidery was loose and a few fake pearls were missing. There is a lot of beading around the collar that actually irritated my baby's neck and chin. The fit seemed ok however the bonnet was too small to fit my 4 month-old baby's head (I ordered a 3-6 month size). Sadly, I'm returning this dress...the hunt continues.

The material (shantung) is a perfect weight year-round. We were quite surprised that the material actually repelled wrinkles. After being passed around to all of the friends and family for photos, the little one still looked amazingly "fresh"! The appliques and craftsmanship definitely pass the "Grandmother and Godmother Stamp of Approval"! The infant is nearly 6 months old and about 20 pounds - a "cherub" in every sense of the word. The gown fit comfortably and the bonnet was perfect. I would buy from this seller again. Thank you, Amazon, for maintaining the highest quality for your customers. We purchased the Large size. Based on other customer reviews, we were afraid we might have ordered the wrong size but it was perfect!

Pros:- Based on the reviews I ordered this dress 6-9 months (M) size because it runs a little big. I also ordered this 1m before the occasion. I consider my baby to be HUGE for her age and it fit perfectly. I was really nervous that it wouldn't fit her as she would grow into. It still fits a couple of weeks after I had received it. Baby to be wearing this is 22 lbs, 28-29" for 6-9 m size- Beautiful embroidery- Doesn't look "cheap" for the priceCons:- If your baby is huge like mine, don't bother with the bonnet. It's too small. I bought her a separate elastic headband to use instead.- You might want to have your baby wear a onesie underneath. The material looks a little itchy. Left some red marks on her back, might just be the tag on the inside.

My first daughter was baptized in the summer and I put her in a short white party style dress. My second daughter's baptism was in the winter, and I wanted something more traditional. This gown was exactly what I was looking for.It arrived quickly.The material feels high quality, almost sturdy. The pearls, beading, and embroidery add a beautiful, delicate touch. It photographed very nicely--no sheen, just my baby's angel face framed by her baptism gown.I had read a lot of reviews about size being an issue, and I did not find this to be a problem. She is a healthy little 6 month old, and I got her the 3-6 month size. The dress style is long, and it was--I doubt this part varies very much size wise. Long is long. The only fit issue is across the chest, and it fit her well. I supposed if she had been, say, 4 months, I probably would have got her the 0-3 month size. Even if she were 7 or 8 months, I bet the 0-6 month would still fit.My only slight issue was the bonnet. It was esquisitely embroidered. But it was just a little bit pointy. Didn't seem like a perfect fit. I started joking about her being a little "Amish princess" because she did look (beautifully) old fashioned in the pictures. But that is the look of traditional, bonnet and long dress.I am a happy customer, and would recommend this gown. I would give it 4 1/2 stars.....1/2 a star off because of the slight point in the bonnet. My daughter had a beautiful day, and the dress made her truly shine.

I just got this dress today and tried it on my 15 month old. I ordered the 9-12 month size (L), because my baby has a slender build. It's really beautifully made, however, the she was completely swimming in it! I know baptismal gowns are supposed to go past the feet, however, the chest area was way too big on her as well. She's about 18 inches around in the chest, 33 inches tall, and weighs 20lbs (she's in the 70th percentile for height, and 25th percentile for weight). I plan to re-order this dress in a smaller size and return this one. We have free 2-day shipping, otherwise I would be screwed since the baptism is in one week. Again, it's a really beautiful dress, I just really wish they would put the actual measurements of the garment on the chart to give a more accurate representation of fit.**Update**I received the smaller size today, size 6-9 months (M). While the smaller size is STILL quite a bit too big around the chest, it fits better around the neck and arms and doesn't look like my daughter is swimming in it, so it will have to do. I find it hard to believe that my 15 month old would fit anything that says 3-6 months, however I can't help but wonder if the next size down would fit her better. I don't know why these gowns are SO oversized, but if you're considering ordering one, I would advise ordering down at least one size, and leave yourself PLENTY of time for returns in case it doesn't fit!

I am extrememly picky, and after looking for hours to find the perfect dress for my 6 month old daughter's baptism, I ordered this one. This dress is more than I expected! It is absolutely beautiful and the quality couldn't be better. The detail on the gown itself, and the bonnet are just beautiful. I bought this dress in a 9 month size (daughter weighs 18.7 pounds). It fits perfectly! She looks like a little angel. I couldn't be happier with this dress or with how fast it shipped! It arrived at my front door first thing this morning, a day before it was scheduled to arrive. Please, take it from me, the pickest most detail oriented mom alive, this dress is PERFECT!!! I can't say a bad thing about this dress. Thank you Amazon for coming through again!!! Awesome!
