This is a nicely made wood mold. It is very thick and sturdy. The carved section is smooth and has no rough edges, not just on the outside of the mold where it is easy to smooth, but also on the inside of the mold that has the detail. The design itself looks precise and is likely machine made, or at least made using a carving tool like a dremel bit. By comparison, my sister bought a different wood mold from a store and asked me to sand the inside where the design is because it is a bit rough. You can also see that the carving in the mold she bought at the store is not very precise so the design is a bit asymmetrical.This does have a slight odor, but I believe that the smell is the natural odor of the wood, as opposed to a nasty chemical smell. The other wood mold that my sister got from the store also has a similar smell.Price-wise, at $11.99, it is probably reasonably priced relative to other molds. The mold my sister bought was $5 or $6, but was a bit bigger than HALF the size of this one. Also, as I indicated above, the carving is smooth in this mold, but not so smooth in the mold that my sister bought at the store, so you are paying a bit more for better quality.Do note the size of the mold because it is quite large and is about the size of a large moon cake. Make sure you want to be making something that is going to be that large.Other than that, this item works as intended.

Perfect LOVE mold for any day of the year or special occasions; make any day special with a treat.Make treats for engagement, wedding or anniversary parties.I wasn't sure how easily things would pop out but it wasn't difficult. The key is to make sure the dough is not sticky when you fill it. Of course this could be used for non-edible items, too.I made a large peanut butter cookie and it came out really well.The first one looked a tad funky because I turned it onto my hand; so, ideally, flip it over and on to a flat surface such as a cookie sheet and voila.It's a perfect size and because it's crafted out of a durable wood it is built to last.My next project will be to make little tarts.One thing I really like about it is that because of the depth you can choose the thickness of what you're making and it also allows for any rising of cookies, tarts, etc......Really well done!
