About this item

  • ULTIMATE PERFORMANCE AND DURABILITY: Exclusively designed for the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, Libre Computer Boards, ASUS Tinker Board, and ODROID-C2***, this revolutionary case is built with durable polycarbonate and active cooling fan to provide performance and protection to your SBC.
  • INTRICATE FEATURES: We analyzed over 30 cases and created four revisions to build this final case design. It features numerous design elements not found on any other case and takes into account all of the popular single board computers on the market.
  • QUICK AND EASY ASSEMBLY: Screw optional design uses numerous latches to secure both the board and the case together. MicroSD card slot is extended to prevent damage allow for easy tool-less removal. GPIO ribbon cable slot enables expansion without sacrificing protection.
  • MATTE BLACK WITH FRONT LED AND IR: Sleek matte black design is perfect for media center applications with a clean glossy front cover for LEDs and IR sensors found on Libre Computer Boards and the ODROID-C2. Raspberry Pi 3 requires separate IR receiver (diode + transistor).
  • TWO FAN SPEEDS AND SUPPORTS TALL HEATSINKS: Brushless DC fan can be connected to 5V for maximum performance or 3.3V for quiet cooling. Can be used with tall heatsinks up to 12mm for best results.

Fits my Libre Computer Le Potato great, looks good.

Case arrived with 4 wire fan (red, black, blue, yellow), instead of 2 wires (red, black). No instructions, no rubber feet. Not sure what the extra 2 wires are for, but works with only red and black connected. Case is sturdy. Low speed is relatively quiet, high speed is pretty loud. Drops the temp on my Pi by about 20 degrees celsius on low speed, but doesn't cool any more than that on high speed so it's staying on low. Would have given 5 stars if the feet weren't missing and if there were instructions regarding the wiring of the fan. Otherwise a good deal.

Great, easy to assemble case. The fan has two modes out of the box, low (3.3v) and high (5v).If you plan on using/accessing the GPIO headers often then I recommend getting a 40 pin cable and a breakout board, the case has a slot that accommodates the ribbon cable to pass through before you screw it shut.Highly recommend the case, it worth the price and the piece of mind if you have kids.

This case is easy to get in and out of and the board is held securely even without the screws by the clips, but can be removed when needed without any fuss or worry about damaging the board or the case. I also love the translucent side which allows you to still use an IR remote (if that's your thing) and see the LEDs on the board, while dimming them ALOT. I have the Le Potato and they somehow managed to install 3 mini Suns on this baddie. The fan is fairly quiet, but does have a kind of electrical hum rather than the usual air churning noise you would expect from a small form factor fan. This is easily the cases weakest offering, but honestly, I don't hear it from across the room with the TV on so I can't complain. If you are sensitive to sounds you might want to consider installing a different fan. I would say look at another case if you think the fan might bother you, but I really do think this is one of the best for the price.

Nothing to dislike here, it fits an ASUS Tinker Board perfectly with a heatsink fitted. This is the heatsink that came with the board that I measured to be 8-9mm high (hard to measure with a 12" plastic ruler when on the board) anything taller is probably not going to fit as it only just clears the fan casing. The cooling fan while audible, is not loud, not to me at least whether you connect to the 3,.3v or 5v pin, the difference between 3.3v and 5v was barely noticeable too. The case is aesthetically pleasing and functional, it includes 4 small stick on feet and 4 screws, 3 of which secure the board to the base of the case, the fourth secures base and top of case together. The screws are not really needed as the two halves of the case fit together snugly, but nice to have nevertheless.

Wow. I'm actually pleasantly surprised by this case. Having bought many different styles of cases for my various single board computers, I can say that this case really stands out from the others. Despite it's affordable cost, this case does not feel cheap at all. The plastic is high quality and finished very well. All of the seams line up properly and everything fits tightly together. There is sufficient space inside to house the SBC of your choice (I've tested Raspberry Pi 3 B and Tinker Board) with heat sinks attached. The fan quite powerful for a fan of this size and works nicely in either high or low power mode. For maximum power, attaching it to the board's 5VDC pin provides the most airflow while attaching to the 3.3VDC pin provides a near silent experience. The corners on this case are shaped nicely and it's apparent that the designers have paid attention to aesthetics. The addition of mounting slots and the inclusion of rubber feet offer two nice ways of placing the board and case exactly where you need it. Very good product.

Works well for Libre Le Potato and okay for ODroid C2. The Le Potato is the same layout as the RPi boards so it fits in perfectly. The front cover leaves the IR sensor usable and dims the LEDs enough so that they are visible but not distracting. If only the Potato could run LibreElec without freezing constantly. So, I switched back to my C2 and I wouldn't agree that this case should be called compatible. The SD card on the C2 is on the side which runs into the angled part of the case and you cannot secure the C2 to the bottom of this case without potentially damaging the SD card. If you used all of the screws it could easily damage the SD card. If you use eMMC then this would probably not be a problem. The fan is pretty quiet at 3.3V but really loud at 5V. Perhaps the people who say it is quite on "high" aren't running a full 5V to it or maybe I just got a crappy fan. I can easily hear it across the room and while it blends in as background noise with the TV on it is definitely still there. On low the fan brought about a 10-15*F drop and on high it was more around 20-30*F. I don't foresee a true need to run it on high ever but if I did I would want to attach it to a switch so that I could leave it on low most of the time. Opening the case to swap it is not realistic and high is just too loud for constant use.
