This duffle opens on three sides, so it opens wide. It makes this bag great for anyone that finds they have to dig to get into bags fighting the top that doesn't open quite big enough to really see and get into the bag. The bag opens on the two short sides and one long side, so you can really get into it. The rectangular shape of the bag lets you fold clothes to fit the shape or use packing cubes that fit perfectly into every corner. This means you can really pack out this bag. I've used it for three long weekend trips. I was able to get everything into it. I had three pairs of shoes in the shoe compartment on the bottom. I pack this compartment first even if I use it for clothes or toiletries. Toiletries and shoes work great to get the weight of the bag established to make packing easier.The outer canvas is really good quality and should last a lifetime. It is the same density, thickness, and durability as my L.l.Bean canvas bags. The interior has a long padded pocket along the back for your laptop or books or magazines. On either end there are elasticized pockets for your large water bottles or cups with handles. Along the front wall is a large zippered compartment that is waterproof and insulated for snacks or medications that need a cold pack. The exterior had a small slip pocket between the straps on the front and a trolley sleeve with a small zipper pocket for some cards, cash or passport. That is it for the exterior.The bag has two solid straps for shoulder or hand carry, plus it comes with a long, adjustable strap for a longer shoulder carry or crossbody carry. The hardware is always great quality with Lovevook bags. That part you do not have to worry about. The build quality is great all around with this uniquely opening bag. This bag is a lifetime keeper!

I've been able to use this weekender for a recent trip that lasted about 8 days. This was a very leisurely trip, so basic, minimalistic clothing was necessary only. Using packing cubes, everything fit so well. With the more boxy shape of the bag, the cubes were a joy to work with! The bottom portion of the bag easily fit a bulkier pair of shoes (size 7.5) and another packing cube. There are some pockets all around the inside of the bag, but using them does detract from what would actually fit in the bag, so I didn't really use them. I also carry a backpack, so that's where my laptop and whatever didn't fit in the weekender went into the backpack (backpack is also from LOVEVOOK and matches perfectly). I really appreciated the connector strap for the two carrying handles, so you're not wrestling to find or hold two separate handles to carry (my husband also appreciated just being able to grab the "one" handle). The included toiletry bag is a great size and feels like it should last. I did choose the lighter color available and I love it. The white with khaki accents is really pretty in person. I'm sure with time and being reckless this bag will get dirty, but I should be able to clean it with a damp rag. And if not, oh well lol. Overall construction of the bag is fantastic, just like every other item I have from LOVEVOOK. Zippers are flawless. Very happy with this purchase!

Happily surprised with the excellent quality, construction, and design of this bag. It's made of a durable canvas with a high-density nylon lining. The zippers are smooth and sturdy (nice gold hardware), and it comes with a heavy duty strap (removable and adjustable) to carry as a shoulder bag or cross body. The color combinations are lovely: I ordered the deep green/beige and it's a gorgeous kind of forest green with beige accents and interior (thank you for a light colored interior so we're not searching in a dark cave for what we need).As I reviewed the specs on this bag, the measurements are listed at a comical 1"x1"x1". It is not a Lilliputian-sized bag! Actual measurements (as close as I could get) are 18" w x 15" h x 9" deep. So that makes it just fine as a carry-on, but maybe a bit big for most underseat (personal item) dimensions. Or, it doesn't matter if it's going in the car with you for a road trip. I love the design, especially the wide open zip top which lets you load everything straight in from the top (and see what you need when you open it back up). It has a padded laptop area, a large lined interior pocket for wet stuff (or whatever), two stretchy interior slip pockets, and maybe best of all, a separated, zippered bottom section (with little air vents) for shoes or anything else you want to isolate from the rest. Two outside slip pockets on the sides can hold a water bottle (not too huge), umbrella. Another slip pocket on the front, a trolley sleeve on the back with a secure zipper pocket for passports, ID, etc. if needed. Oh, and a compact and lightweight dopp kit with carry handle (it could be a cosmetics bag, but I think I'll give it to my husband -- a good alternative to his heavier leather dopp). All in all, a great value and an awesome bag for any adventure.
