Installation: This does not have a hanger included, so you will need an extra pair of hands - someone to hold it in place while you work the wires and screws. Other than that, it was simple and only took about 15 minutes to install from start to finish.Function: The air flow from the fan is substantial. Setting 1 is a slight breeze, felt several feet radiating out from the fan, with only the slightest trace of noise. Setting 6 is a strong breeze that moves air through an entire room, with a soft white-noise fan quality to it. At no point does it get loud. The light has several adjustable settings to it, the brightest of which is incredibly bright. The softest of which was still a little too bright for my personal liking. Our biggest issue came with the fact that in order to have the fan running, the light is never truly off. It goes to what I'm going to call "glow-stick mode". If you're putting this in a dining room or a small child's bedroom, this probably wouldn't be an issue. This was going in our master bedroom. I've worked really hard to add black out drapes and minimize lights of all kinds to maximize sleep. Even something as simple as a glow-stick (which is about how this looks) felt like a neon sign in that space. (In reality it's brighter than it looks in that dark picture; the picture really does not do it justice!)The last issue we had is that it does not remember your settings. This means that when you inevitably forget, walk into the room and flip the light switch, it will revert to the the brightest setting of the light and no fan. Every. Single. Time. It took only 2 days for me to get really frustrated with this problem.Overall, this is not a bad ceiling fan, but it could use some improvements to be sure.
