I was planning a visit to Coachella music festival and heard that phone theft was a pretty common occurrence. To combat this I ordered these backpack locks to secure the zippers. They were super easy to program and opened/closed quickly and flawlessly. They are hefty and durable, which is nice for the long haul. They are a tad heavy, but I expected that in a lock.Overall, you can't go wrong with these if you are looking for a simple and compact combination lock.

Between transport, the hotels or anywhere it seems like anyone can take your luggage. At the airport luggage carouselit always feels like anyone can select and walk away with any luggage even though they are labeled. Anyway, it just feels better to have a lock on the luggage and one that is TSA safe. These are compact, but seem durable enough. You can change the combo to something you'll remember versus a pre determined combo you would have to memorize.

I received these locks as part of the Amazon Vine Program. These locks are great for traveling and are TSA approved. They come in neat colors. The combination is easy to set. Although the “band” seems somewhat thin this allows it to easily thread the zipper tab.

I have used the TSA approved combo locks with the flex shaft for many years. Two of my locks have become worn and I don't trust them anymore. When these new locks arrived I was very pleased to see that the cables appear very strong and the lock bodies are likewise heavy duty. The small combination wheels are conveniently located on the outside edge of the lock are are very easy to manipulate. The locks are preset for a simple combination, but easy to follow instructions gave clear guidance for a quick reset. I noted that if, after setting the new combination, if you forget what it is, it cannot be reset. This is actually a very good security feature. I'd recommend these locks for even frequent travelers.

I got these locks to transport my handguns to the shooting range in compliance with my state laws. While I don't fly with my firearms I also plan to use these locks for locking my checked luggage. Since the cable is flexible you can loop it twice around zipper tabs. Changing pin code is very easy. You just need to open the lock, push the reset button with a writ9ing pen or small screwdriver, enter a new pin code and release the reset button. I had a hard time to use solid shackle locks with my turtle case because lock holes was positioned far away from the lip edge, but these flexible cable padlocks fit perfectly.

This set of TSA luggage locks comes with one black lock and one silver. They are pretty standard and accept TSA 007 keys, which is extremely common. They also bear the Travel Sentry (TSA approved) logo on the front and back of each lock. The nicest thing about these locks is the cable style shackle. This cable is easy to feed through the eyes on luggage zippers. It also has the able to twist and turn which could potentially reduce stress on a zipper slider and prevent it from breaking when luggage goes through the horrible abuse it often experiences at airports. An important feature of these locks is the prominent release button. TSA is highly aggressive about cutting locks off of luggage if they have any sort of trouble opening the lock. The prominent release button makes the operation of the lock obvious to anyone who has even the slightest concern for other people’s property, so hopefully that obvious release button will eliminate excuses and reduce the chances of TSA cutting the lock.Another nice thing about these locks is that the user can set a custom combination. So, a traveler could chose one combination and use that one combination for all of his/her luggage locks. Skroob Travel Tip #1: It is not advisable to set your luggage combination to 1-2-3-4-5 or any other common numerical sequence. In conclusion, these are basic luggage locks that should meet the needs of most travelers. I recommend them.

I needed some new travel locks for suitcases I’m taking on some upcoming international trips and these locks from UP Security looked like what I needed. Two locks were provided and were wrapped in a thin foam sheet and packaged in a resealable plastic bag with an instruction leaflet. These locks were surprisingly heavy and appeared to have been made from metal castings. The combination lock used three digits that were settable by the user but needed a pointy tool to set this. This is a good thing as now it’s almost impossible to reset the combination by accident – as with other locks. The hasp was made from a multi-stranded steel cable covered by a plastic sheath. It didn’t look very strong and I felt that simple wire cutters would probably be enough to cut through this (but I didn’t try). When the correct combination is set, a button needs to be pressed to open the lock – I think this offers another security step as it will take more time to try out different combinations. Note that the hasp can be pushed back into the lock without the correct combination set – so if the correct combination is not noted, you’re screwed. I see some similar locks have a button to indicate whether the lock has been opened during transit. These locks don’t have that.I think there are better locks than these but none of them are going to offer much protection to something like a suitcase. At best they may act as a deterrent to opportunist thieves and for more determined criminals, I’d rather they broke the cheap lock than slice up a $100 suitcase. At just over $7, this pair of locks seem to be slightly cheaper than competitive offerings.

I have those tiny luggage locks with keys and always afraid that I would lose my keys and had to get someone to cut the locks. Well these locks do not require keys, and were pretty easy to program. While the 3 digits made it faster and easy to remember, it was also less secure than having 4 digits. Still, these are decent locks for the price.
