The rack itself is sturdy and strong as well as a handsome peice with the coloring of the bamboo and craftmanship. This is a nicer suitcase stand than I have seen in many hotels. The webbing is thick and well stitched. The Bamboo (wood) is sturdy and the bottom shelf seems well constructed. There is a spring loaded metal bearing in the legs that allows you to lock the shelf in place when it is folded. Depending on your suitcase you may have to have the front or back propped on the cross rail, but that's pretty common with a wood style rack. I only gave it four stars because taking it out of the package I could still smell the stain/varnish used to finish the wood. Not overwhelming, but it might take a little while for that to go away.
