Taiwan Alishan Jin Xuan Oolong Tea

- Oolong tea has been a favorite drink since ancient times. Taiwan Province of China produces many world-famous oolong teas. Green Oolong Tea, Dongding Oolong Tea, Alishan Oolong Tea, and Oriental Beauty Oolong Tea are all representative Oolong teas in Taiwan.
- Alishan oolong tea has a unique fragrance and is mainly divided into Qingxin oolong tea and Jinxuan oolong tea. Jinxuan oolong tea is mainly produced in Jiayi County and Nantou County, Taiwan Province. It is distributed in the area of 1000-1600 meters above sea level. It grows naturally, without additives, and is hand-picked.
Alishan Oolong Tea
- Alishan in Taiwan has an advantageous geographical environment. It is surrounded by clouds and mist all year round, with abundant water vapor and sufficient sunshine. And the altitude of the tea garden is higher, mostly above 1000 meters. As the saying goes, high mountain clouds and mist make good tea, and Alishan high mountain tea is one of the most famous teas in Taiwan.
Jinxuan Oolong Tea
- Jinxuan oolong tea is a semi-fermented tea. The color of the tea leaves is honey green, the soup color is bright orange and yellow, and the taste is rich and sweet. The biggest feature of Jinxuan tea is that it has a faint natural milky aroma.
How To Brew Oolong Tea?
(1)Take 3g tea leaves and put them into the cup or tea pot.
(2)Add boiling water and quickly pour it away.
(3)Add 200ml/7.1oz hot water with 100℃(212F).
(4)Soak for 1-3 mins, and pour out the tea soup. Taste the aroma of tea, which can be brewed for 3-5 times.

I ordered the product a few months ago. It required no shipping and arrived in days. The quality was as described, so I ordered a few more packs this time. For some unknown reason, I have to pay for shipping. In addition to the shipping, the products arrived 3-4 weeks later and the taste is nowhere near the previous one. I tried to return the products but could not, even though it was listed as PRIME at the beginning. I do not recommend the product nor the seller because the quality is not consistent and the seller aggressively and falsely listed as PRIME and misleads the customers.

Not what I expected. This tea is more green tea than oolong. It has a really light green tint and the faint scent of green tea. The tea might have been picked in the wrong season or mixed up with other batches.The tea did not have milky or creamy undertones you’d expect. Missing from the scent is the floral, sweet aroma you get from this oolong.The taste was fine for green tea. It left a coating or sensation on the tongue and back of your throat that you would expect from greens.Alishan oolongs should be a creamier version of milky’s but this not what I received.

I find the tea fragrant and not stale tasting. Classic oolong profile, a little more vegetal than Iron Goddess of Mercy, which is the way I prefer my oolong. The leaves unfurl very nicely in hot water, and I have steeped the tea three times and still achieved good flavors. Recommended.

I bought this blend after my usual kombucha blend became unavailable. It does not have as rich a flavor or color as my preferred blend, but it makes kombucha with the appropriate acidity and ability to ferment.
