- Baffles in wood stoves and inserts are required to be in good condition to burn efficiently and meet EPA emissions regulations. The baffle, when working correctly, creates a secondary high temperature burn zone to reduce smoke emissions. Over time, it is normal for baffles to deteriorate and they can be easily broken during routine maintenance. Stoves with broken or missing baffles will burn less efficiently, smoke more, and not comply with emissions regulations. To ensure your stove is working efficiently and safely, inspect your baffles yearly and replace them when they have visible damage such as cracking or missing material.
- Lynn Manufacturing’s replacement baffles are designed from a special high temperature ceramic fiber alternative insulation that both insulates and can withstand high temperatures and chemical attack. This is an improved design which does not carry a respiratory health and safety warning, unlike ceramic fiber. This material is a replacement for vermiculite, ceramic fiber, and C-Cast.

My buck stove was a discontinued model . I am quite happy with its warming qualitys how ever the fiber baffel was wearing and i needed a replacement . Amazon found the company and after a search they had what i thaught was my baffel I measuerd the old one lxw and the height of the space it was in (the old one was much thinner) order it and installed was perfect fit ! had to wait untill it got cold to see if it worked . It is perfict my fire box is very hot because if i damp down my stove it creasotes my chminy a small hot fire keeps the chimny clean and when the house gets warm I let the fire burn out with a hardwood round to make charcole for my next burn!
