Checked NVMe operating temperature before and after heatsink. -25°C drop from bare 256GB NVMe to after installing the heatsink! The only reason I gave it a 4 star - there were NO instructions. Two sticky pads, which goes on the bottom of the NVMe to attach it to the bottom bracket, and then which on the heatsink side? (white on bottom, gray on heatsink) And a picture for best alignment of the heatsink on the NVMe board for max heat transfer? (locating the notch on the heatsink closer to the securing notch on the NVMe board for max coverage of the working ICs) And don't forget to remove the clear film protectors on the pads, both sides. I purchased two kits. The second installation was easier. Not rocket science, but would have made the first install easier...

This design is great for heat dissipation (removal to surroundings) and transfer (drawing away from NVMe drive). I wish there was a 2230 length version! Be aware NVMe drives with chips on both sides will cause severe bending of the drive near the connector. This is true for 2280 length as well, not just these stubby ones. Single-sided boards also ease attachment to different kinds of posts for securing the drives at the rear. Sadly, NVMe makers don't all reveal whether there boards are single or double sided. I will be returning all dounle sided NVMe drives, as these heatsinks are critical to long life and best functioning of NVMe drives. Heat is your enemy!

This worked well for my custom PC build. SSD temps went down by about 20-30 degrees C. The mass of the cooler helps to prevent the temperature from spiking.

It was easy to assemble around the memory stick, you need one of those shallow point phillips screwdrivers, which reminds me I should buy a couple more if I can find them.(The phillips screwdrivers for regular screws have a longer tip bevel so the point bottoms out before the blades fully engage making it easy to strip the head of the screw.)Once bolted on it did not obstruct installation in any way as I put the memory into my NUC.Sorry, I did not do before/after temperature checks.
