Those M.2 mounting screws are always a pain to deal with. In a PC they are usually located in a difficult-to-reach space, and they are made of materials that don't usually work well with magnetic tip screwdrivers. In the picture above, the spacer is securing an NVMe on a Raspberry Pi and does the job wonderfully. They can be ordered in shorter heights or different materials. Just make sure you get a Male-Female. The same page also sells Female-Female units but they won't be useful in securing the NVMe.
