Great value adapter for astrophotography and moon shots! Fits securely on Nikon DSLRs and works well with M42 gear. Slight learning curve for beginners, but delivers sharp results once set up.

This adapter works well with my m42 vintage lenses and lets me adapt them to my nikon f mount cameras and other f mount adapters. It does not feel or look as premium as my other m42 adapter but it is still capable of getting the job done.

My husband picked this out for his camera and he loves it, he needed to use in conjunction with our telescope. It was a great find and what he needed to take the pictures he wanted.

pros: Build quality is great! It is definitely not plastic but metal instead. This will help prolong the product. Fits my Nikon DLSR camera nicely. Would highly recommend. This company does a good job at their products without the feel of it being cheaply made. Would highly recommend.cons: N/A

This appears to have a good build and well machined parts. I tested this on my Nikon D3300 and it fits snug with no budging, which I sometimes see in these T rings. To attach it, you need to line up the red dot on the ring with the white dot on the camera (see image). I also tested the M42 threads using my Celestron T adapter and it fit perfectly. This is an essential part for attaching a Nikon DSLR to a Celestron or other SCT telescope and will work well with my CPC800. It was a nice touch for the sellers to include an allen key/wrench to use for rotating the T-ring. I also tested that and it worked fine, and tightened up when I screwed then back in. Rotating using the T-ring usually isn’t necessary because the T-adapter can also be rotated more easily (no tool required), but it’s still nice to know it can be rotated in case you’re using it without a T-adapter, which some scenarios might require (e.g., non-SCT telescopes that might have a different back focus distance so you can’t use a T-adapter).

Solid little piece of gear for under $15. Build quality seems to be good - the T-ring is made of metal (NOT plastic!!). Attaches and detaches smoothly. This is the second T-ring from Starboosa I own, and like the other, my only minor issue is that they put the lens mount index mark on the inside of the ring. It's not a huge deal. Yes, I can find the alignment to attach T-ring to my camera body. I'm just used to it on the outside where it's easily seen. Other than that, great piece of astrophotography gear!

I use this adapter not for astrophotography, but to mount vintage M42 lenses onto my newer Nikon DSLR, and it works perfectly. The connection feels solid, and the build quality is great for the price. It’s lightweight but doesn’t feel flimsy, and the threading is smooth and precise. I’ve had no issues adapting older lenses, and it’s been a fun way to bring new life to some of my vintage glass.
