Heads up. Both M42x0.75 mm (also called a Tamron or T-ring thread) and M42x1.0 mm (also called a Praktica or P-thread) are used in astrophotography. Sometimes vendors just call the thread M42. These are often but not invariably M42x1.0. The two different threads will engage for a couple of turns, but quickly cross thread running the parts. Make sure you are get the right one for your part.As a general rule telescopes will use the M42x0.75mm pitch except for Questar which uses the M42x1.0mm thread. M42 camera lenses usually use the Praktica M42x1.0 thread pitch. Even if you are careful, be cautious when you thread your parts together. You should feel little to no resistance as you thread the parts together, until the adapter "bottoms out" against the flange. Then its ok to apply a bit more force to make a firm connection.
