Product Description

Silicon Seal Ring

IS YOUR PORTAFILTER LEAKING AGAIN?

Although there are several culprits to be blamed, the most common reason why portafilters leak is a malfunctioning steam ring or group gasket. More often than not, this usually means that the group gasket is already dried out and cracked, which is why moisture is able to escape or pass through it. Now, all steam rings, at some point, will start to show signs of wear and tear. But there are some that are capable of prolonging the need for a replacement thanks to the nature of their material.

This 54mm Silicone Steam Ring by MacMaxe offers excellent value for your money thanks to its effectiveness and durability!

A SOLID INVESTMENT

The constant need to replace your group gasket can be a tiresome and expensive task, but not with our silicone steam ring. Using superb quality silicone materials, it's much more durable and lasts longer especially when you compare it to its rubber counterparts. This makes it a great investment for you and your machine, reducing the number of changes necessary, and saving you both time and money!

SAFE & HEALTHY BREWS

Everybody loves a good cup of hot and steaming coffee–except when it has that funky rubber smell to it. But with our silicone steam ring, you don't have to worry about such things. It's made from premium materials that are food-safe and contains no harmful BPAs. It's also more hygienic since it's capable of preventing harmful elements from affecting the flavor and quality of your brews.

EXCELLENT SEALING ABILITY

Whether you're running a small café or simply love mixing your own brews at home, our silicone steam ring is here to help make sure that your machine is up to the task. The silicone is soft and pliable so it adapts extremely well to the shape of the groove easily, allowing it to create a really tight seal. Say goodbye to water dripping and bypassing the basket and leaking out!

EXTREME TEMPERATURES? NO WORRIES

The constant exposure to extreme temperatures is one of the main causes of group gasket damage. Switching from hot to cold and vice versa can take its toll on the gasket, hence negatively affecting its structural integrity and shortening its service life.

But because our silicone steam ring can withstand extreme temperatures, it won't crack or deform as easily as rubber gasket rings.

A KITCHEN MUST-HAVE

Any group gasket will need to be changed eventually and so it's essential to have a few spare steam rings at hand. This makes sure that you're ready whenever your old gasket starts leaking. Besides, the longer you delay changing your group gasket, the more difficult it will be in the future as the rubber hardens into the grooves. So do yourself a favor and save yourself from stress by grabbing an extra gasket or two.

A little tricky to fit but work perfectly on the Sage Barista

The ring was just a tad large. It took a lot more force to swivel in the group head into place. I became worried about doing damage to my beloved Breville. I replaced it with another ring.

Fits perfectly and at least in my case fixed the tendency of the machine to send out a fine spray of coffee from the portafilter. Breville is probably right that the gasket needs to be replaced every 8-12 months to prevent this from happening.

After five years, the original gasket in my Breville Barista Express was shredded. $15 later, this gasket has given me two years of solid service with no signs of wear.

I was having an issue where our Breville Barista Touch, when steaming milk, would allow steam to escape from the grouphead area, at which point, the milk steamer/frother wouldn't get hot enough to steam the milk properly. I found how to remove the basket in the grouphead and cleaned it well, but the issue would still reoccur after a short period of time. Then I did some digging and found that the OEM steam ring needed replaced due to daily use over the past 14 months. This product fixed our unit back up good as new, and after 2 months of use, we've not had any issues at all. I can't speak to the longevity of it as we've only been using this new steam ring for 2-3 months, but so far so good. It seems like it is a durable product so my expectations are high.

Thankfully we found this seller on amazon and was able to get our part asap. My hubby replaced the seal with the new one and while it was a little snug fit, once he got in place, it created the perfect seal. It's working perfectly and we can extract perfect espresso without any more leaks. I'm so glad we were able to fix it and not have to spend $$$$$ on a new machine entirely. THANK YOU so much for selling this item.

The original silicone gasket (shown in the photos as the white ring) degraded and wore out after about 4 years or so. This new, replacement gasket (green ring in the photos) was easy enough to replace, and has been working perfectly for more than a month now. As other have said, and as does the manual, to replace this grouphead gasket, first remove the center screw, then pry the metal showerhead part out. The back of the brush handle works great for this, as shown in the photo (but remove the center screw first with the included hex wrench). Then you'll probably need a longnose plier to grab and remove the old gasket. The new gasket fits in easily and the showerhead and screw go back together quickly after that. Great replacement.
