These are high quality chrome covers that are made precisely for my 2008 gl450. I struggled for years about the peeling laminate. They look like they belong on the car, not like some awkward after-market. Would highly recommend these to someone with a similar issue on their old Benz. Customer service is also very good. Just be careful, the tape is very strong. There is no margin for error once they’re applied. Follow the instructions and take your time on the install. But anyone can do this. Took me 20 min.

I was excited about giving my 2008 GL450 a facelift with this product. I decided on this based on the positive reviews but was pretty disappointed to find one of the 6 pieces arrived with the adhesive dried up and significantly less "grip" when i applied it to the vehicle. The result is the driver side middle piece is bonded to the vehicle in the mid portion but the ends on both sides have lifted off and no matter how hard i press they just wont stay down. I am now researching an adhesive to add in order to avoid the whole piece eventually coming off. This product is probably good for most people but my shipment was not up to par with some other reviews. I would not buy again.

It's okay, but it's a temporary fix, from a distance it looks good, but getting up close is another story. The people that manufactured these pieces probably did the best they could, without pricing themselves out of the market. Still looks better then the worn-out black factory piece by a 100%

Simple installation and fits and looks perfect.Ordered for my 2008 GL450 to hide pealing plastic. Took me about 20 minutes to complete task and I am totally satisfied with the look. Each segment fits perfectly with no gaps.About the customer service. After having the item installed for nearly a year, my daughter accidentally hooked her backpack strap on one of the segments while exiting the car and bent the outer edge. When I emailed the seller about the issue, simply asking if I could order a single segment without having to purchase the entire set, they quickly responded and said 'no problem and don't worry about the cost'. I was totally amazed and 100% satisfied with the product and EXCELLENT customer service. Replacement segment arrived in three days and the product still looks great well over three years after I originally installed.

I just purchased a used 2008 GL450 that was in nearly-new condition. ON the exterior the only thing making this car look old was the peeling window sills. When I found these on Amazon I was hesitant to buy them because of the unknowns: 1. ease of installation; 2. quality of materials; 3. overall finished appearance. I couldn't be happier. They are stainless with 3M adhesive so I have high hopes they will hold up to the brutal Texas heat. They were incredibly easy to install (*note: they did NOT come with installation instructions). And the finished product looks nearly like it was a factory installed part. I think they look classy, not flashy and completely eliminated my unsightly peeling sills. Also, VERY IMPORTANT NOTE, I read through many of the reviews before purchasing. This company has FIXED the problem with these being 2-4mm off in size for the rear door and far-rear window sills. These fit perfectly.

Looks great and installation took 10mins. The other post about the back door is correct. It could be a "little" bit longer, but over all its a great and inexpensive way to get rid of the peeling clear coat on the trim. FYI- I did peel all the loose clear coat off before applying the new trim. I would recommend it. Once it starts peeling, it pulls off in large pieces. Just take your time pulling on it.

It's unfortunate that a vehicle like a Mercedes Benz has this flaw with it's trim but I'm sure you are looking at this item because the clear coat on the window sills of your GL are peeling. When I ordered these new chrome sills I was worried that they might look cheap. Let me tell you these things look great! My truck looks like new again and it cost me less than $100. If you're on the fence about buying these, rest assure they are high quality. Be aware as someone else on here mentioned that the rear sill is just slightly shorter and cut a little different than the original sill but it is hardly noticeable once it's on there.

First of all, the product is made of good quality stainless steel.1- Front doors : fit perfect, very precise! * * * * * 5 stars!2- Rear doors: will be better if they were 2mm longer for the perfect fit, thought it's not very noticeable if you don't get close to it. * * * * 4.5 stars3- 3rd row windows: These ones are not perfect, I understand it's hard to make this perfect on the round part where it ends, so if you try to guide them from the round part to cover (back to front) to make them look better, then it will be about 3-4mm gap (shorter)Overall, this worth it, even thought it's not anything alike to genuine chrome kit when you get close to it, only from 5+ meters away :D
