This colorful fishing and matching game is a favorite of my three year old. She loves the bright colors and enjoys catching the fish with the little magnetic poles. Each fish has a letter or number on one side and a shape on the other. Once "caught" the fish can be matched to the well made, flat board. My daughter feels a real sense of accomplishment as she catches the fish and matches them to their correct spot on the board. This game lends itself well to cooperative play, turn taking and fosters lots of talk about colors, shapes, numbers etc. The fishing part of the game keeps things fun and adds hand eye coordination to the mix.

I ordered this alphabet, number, shape fishing game to play during my Ocean themed month at preschool. After teaching the kids how to play it, they are able to fish for a wooden fish and match it to the game board. I love how the wooden fish are sturdy and can take on the normal play abuse from preschool aged kids. The only thing I would like to change, is that the #7 fish is written normal, but on the gameboard it is written with a slash (t) through it. I had a few confused kids so I ended up just taking a blue marker and fixing it on the game board, but I found that odd. The 2 fishing poles are small for little hands and haven't broke yet, but they are not as sturdy as I would have liked. Overall my classroom loves the game, we use it and will continue to use it this whole month as we learn our letter, numbers and shapes.

I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised when this game set arrived. It came in a very compact box which makes it easily portable and taken on the road. Opening up the box, the contents were of good quality...the game board was sturdy and well-made, colorful with cute pictures next to the letters of the alphabet. One side are the ABCs/123s and the other side are shapes. The little bag holds all the fish which have the corresponding letter, shape or number. They are the perfect size for little hands. The fishing poles are basic, but not flimsy at all. And most importantly, the magnets were just the right strength to actually "catch" the fish and allow a child to feel successful. I made sure all the fish were accounted for and I'm not gonna lie...I had fun "fishing" too, Lol.

Our little one loves to catch these fish over and over again. She catches all the fish and puts them on the chart, then wants to fish all over again. Good sturdy board that lays flat so the fish don't slide off. The fish are thick, highly-polished wood in bright colors. The magnets are strong and there are two fishing poles so you can fish with your little one. One side of each fish has a letter on it and the other side of the fish has a shape. The letters and shapes are vividly painted on the fish and easy to match on the chart. Our little one seems to enjoy matching the colors and shapes more at this point than the alphabet. Very fun set.
