I ordered this item because I teach a variety of NMJL Mah Jongg classes for our city's Department of Parks and Recreation.We used this mat this week, and all of my students absolutely loved it! The pink color is very pretty, but what they loved most were the reminders about how to pass during the Charleston, which way to push out the racks, and to remember to never use Jokers with a pair! It also has reminders about which dragons go with which suit.This would make a great gift for a beginning mah jongg player, a teacher, or simply for anyone who wants to protect their tiles from scratches and reduce noise.The quality is very good and I expect it to last for many years, so it is a good value for the money. It is easy to carry with the provided carrying bag. It smoothed out easily with no wrinkles as soon as I took it out of the bag right before my classes this weekOverall, a very nice item and I hope to use it for many years!I will post a picture of the way it looks when you have racks and tiles on it, and another picture showing a close up of what some of the printed directions look like, which I hope shoppers will find helpful

Really pretty mat and I like that some of the hard to remember things like dragon pairings are listed on the mat. The tiles are the Gustaria American Mahjong set on Amazon in light green.

Very vibrant colors, thick material and such a fun design. The design is also very helpful for new players. All the girls I play mahjong with couldn’t believe the price. This would be a great gift for someone starting on their mahjong journey
